Major Warframe Duviri Paradox Update Delayed | Game Rant

Although the COVID-19 outbreak has halted progress on several major projects, it has not stopped developer Digital Extremes from continuing its work on Warframe from home. While live fan events like TennoCon 2020 have been cancelled, the developers are still hosting live streams and online events to keep the game's community posted. However, the outbreak may have derailed plans for one of the game's biggest updates.

Digital Extremes initially unveiled Warframe's Duviri Paradox update in 2019. When it comes out, this huge addition to the game will introduce a massive open world to players. In a recent livestream, the game's development team discussed its release calendar over the next three months.

The live stream confirmed that Warframe's next major updates, Nightwave: Season 3 and The Deadlock Protocol, are slated for May and June. After teasing the TennoCon 2020 digital event in July, Digital Extremes finally acknowledged the Duviri update was "not on the agenda" this year. Digital Extremes said that it had decided to focus on Warframe's New War update. Because the developers are largely working from home with limited resources, this made a delay necessary.

While this news may come as a disappointment to Warframe fans, the delay is definitely understandable. Digital Extremes' ability to adapt to the challenges caused by the pandemic is admirable. Hopefully, the next two updates and TennoCon will keep players interested until social distancing is lifted.

Warframe is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One.
