Valorant Reveals New Agent Reyna from Mexico | Game Rant

Valorant finally revealed the new agent it's been teasing for the last couple of weeks. Her name is Reyna, and she's a female agent hailing from Mexico with a name that means "Queen."

The official Valorant Twitter account released a small teaser that showed off some of Reyna's personality and toolkit. Like teasers for other Valorant characters, this one isn't very long, but it's enough to give viewers an idea of how Reyna operates.

From the looks of things, Reyna will be one of Valorant's Duelist characters, as her powers require her to be in the thick of things to work. She has a passive ability that causes her opponents to leave behind black and purple orbs that she refers to as "hearts."

Through her Q ability, Reyna can absorb these hearts and use them to regenerate for three seconds. Her E ability also allows her to collect hearts, but it grants her invulnerability instead. Reyna's Signature ability sees her throwing an orb out that turns into a Lovecraftian looking eye. The eye blinds people, but how is up to speculation. It looks like it might trigger based on proximity, though.

The names of these abilities remain a mystery, and it's unlikely that Riot Games will reveal them before Valorant's launch. Luckily, there's not much time left before that happens.

The trailer does reveal that Reyna's Ultimate is called "Empress," which is a name that keeps in theme with Reyna's. The trailer doesn't show the Ultimate in action, but when activated, Empress gives Reyna an increased fire rate with her weapons and reduces the cooldown time on her skills. It can also combine itself with E, and when it does, it turns Reyna invisible.

While Valorant was in development, Riot gave Reyna the codename "Vampire," and it's easy to see why. If her life-stealing abilities didn't give it away, her voice lines certainly do. She has the mentioned, "Give me your heart!" line when using her Q, and when using her E, she gluttonously screams, "More! More!" — almost as if she hasn't had her fill feeding yet.

Overall, Reyna gives off a very sinister vibe. It'll be interesting to see how she handles in the game when it releases, but it would be even more exciting to see what kind of relationships she would have with the rest of Valorant's characters.

Valorant's full launch will happen on June 2, 2020, for PC.
