Destiny 2 Will Make Some Raid Exotics Easier to Get | Game Rant

Destiny 2 is going to make it easier for players to acquire some of its exotics next season. Developer Bungie announced a new update for Season 11 that will boost the drop chances for raid exotic weapons and items that might be a little too rare.

The two rare raid exotics are the One Thousand Voices fusion rifle and the Anarchy grenade launcher, which drop from Last Wish and Scourge of the Past, respectively. Bungie has implemented “bad luck protection” in the past to help boost the chances of getting these exotics, but the devs want to take things further.

Starting with the Season 11 launch update, the drop chances for both of the exotics will start at 10% and increase with each subsequent raid clear without a drop. This won’t lead to guaranteed drop, though, as the chance tops out at 50%. At that point, if players can’t acquire One Thousand Voices or Anarchy then the game simply “doesn’t want them to have it.”

The Anarchy exotic grenade launcher has been a particularly popular raid exotic for its ability to damage targets all on its own. Destiny 2 players can increase their boss DPS simply by launching a few spike grenades and then switching to another weapon to deal damage while the spikes shock the target.

In addition to the aforementioned raid exotic weapons, the 'Always on Time' exotic sparrow that drops from the Scourge of the Past hidden chest will use the same bad luck protection system. Destiny 2 players have a chance of acquiring Always on Time from the secret chest that is unlocked during the fiery Servitor sparrow chase encounter. To unlock the secret chest, players need to hit a series of buttons hidden throughout the “race track” and then head to a new area at the end of the encounter.

While it is not on the list, Bungie confirmed that the Tarrabah exotic submachine gun that drops from Crown of Sorrows already has bad luck protection in place. So if players have been trying to get the Destiny 2 raid exotic, they are having really bad luck.

Considering that there are Destiny 2 players that have been trying to get Anarchy and 1KV since their respective raids launched, this change is likely a welcome home. It would have been nice to see this bad luck protection implemented sooner, but Bungie has a lot of priorities when it comes to changes to old content. It’s also worth mentioning that this system is not retroactive, so those who are on their 80+ Last Wish raid clear will still need to clear the raid 20 more times to hit the 50% drop chance.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
