Hellblade 2 Will Use Unreal Engine 5, Microsoft Confirms

Microsoft has confirmed that another one of its upcoming exclusives is being developed using Epic's newly announced Unreal Engine 5. In a blog post, Microsoft announced that Senua's Saga: Hellblade II will be developed using the brand-new technology.

Microsoft said the use of this new engine will "bring the Hellblade franchise to levels never before seen." The announcement trailer shown in December 2019 was captured in-engine, and is meant to represent what the Xbox Series X is capable of, Microsoft said. You can re-watch that video below.

Microsoft's other Unreal Engine 5 game is the next game from Wasteland developer inXile. The game has yet to be properly announced, however.
