Tenet Might Get Delayed Again | Game Rant

Christopher Nolan is determined to have his latest project, the mysterious Tenet, screened in theaters. That desire to have the film up on the big screen means waiting for theaters to open. Unfortunately, a resurgence in COVID-19 cases has resulted in delays to the film's release.

While many films have opted to shift to a streaming or on-demand release during this time, some large-budget blockbusters are holding out for a traditional theater release. Comedies and indie films might not need all that screen real estate to tell their story, but action films like Wonder Woman and Tenet use every inch of the screen as part of the spectacle.

After already pushing back its release date from July 17 to the 31, rumors are circulating that Tenet could be pushed back two more weeks, to August 12 or 14. The film is likely to be worth the wait, as Nolan's resume is filled with excellent blockbusters. The news that the director blew up an actual 747 commercial jet for a sequence in the film—because miniatures and CGI were not authentic enough—shows he is pulling out all the stops for this film.

Despite all the hype and anticipation, little is known about the plot of Tenet. Fans only just found out the name of Robert Pattinson's character and a few choice plot details thanks to an interview Nolan recently gave. The vague details are only heightening speculation, and fan excitement, which makes delays even more excruciating.

If the rumors are to believed, fans will have to wait a little longer to see Tenet. But with no confirmation yet from distributor Warner Brothers, there is still hope that July 31st will hold.

Tenet is scheduled to be released in theaters (for now) on July 31st.
