Apex Legends Mobile Respawn Beacon Available in All Game Modes

In the free-to-play market, it seems like battle royale games are being announced every week. With games like Hyper Scape topping the Twitch charts, veteran battle royale games are having to take chances on updates they wouldn't normally do to make sure they stay relevant. Apex Legends is no different in this regard and seems to be taking a chance by adding mobile respawn beacons to all of its game modes.

Mobile respawn beacons were added as part of Apex Legends' limited-time Armed and Dangerous Evolved event, where players would face off with only shotguns and sniper rifles. Every player would also be equipped with one of these beacons, allowing players to revive fallen comrades wherever they wished, rather than having to find one of the stationary beacons on the map.

However, now it seems that mobile respawn beacons may be here to stay, as according to a tweet from the official Apex Legends Twitter account, players can now expect to find the beacons across all game modes. Unlike Armed and Dangerous Evolved, however, players will have to loot the mobile respawn beacons in these other modes.

The tweet also announced that some bug fixes were added for Loba's tactical ability as well. Considering that there have been many new bugs found in the game since the last patch, this should be very welcome news to all players.

While it's too early to be determined whether or not this will seriously hamper the other game modes, this addition seems to contribute to the idea that perhaps Respawn Entertainment isn't quite happy with revival mechanics in the game. Apex Legends was one of the first battle royales to do an in-game respawn, and considering Fortnite ultimately added a similar mechanic, it's not that big of a stretch to say it set the standard. However, now it seems like tweaks and changes for self-revive and respawning are happening with every patch.

Many would think that this would be a huge talking point in not only the Apex Legends community, but the battle royale community as well. However, the overwhelming majority of the replies to this tweet were players displaying their dislike of the game's skill-based matchmaking. It seems like players are not focused nearly as much on reviving their teammates, as they are on racking up kills. Hopefully, with this update, Apex Legends will be able to find some kind of happy medium.

Apex Legends is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and will be available this fall on Nintendo Switch and mobile devices.
