Assassin's Creed Valhalla Art Book Being Published By Dark Horse Comics
Assassin's Creed Valhalla was one of the most anticipated games shown off at yesterday's Ubisoft Forward event. After it was revealed that the next game in the Assassin's Creed franchise would be taking place in Viking Europe, players have been eager to jump into the new historical world. Now they will be able to dive even deeper into the Assassin's Creed Valhalla landscape with the announcement of an official art book alongside the game's release.
Dark Horse Comics will be releasing the new art book for Assassin's Creed Valhalla in collaboration with Ubisoft. The publishing house has previously released similar hardcover editions for games, including The Last of Us 2 and Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order. Dark Horse is also known for expanding video game storylines into comic series such as The Witcher and Tomb Raider.
The announcement from Dark Horse reveals that "The Art of Assassin's Creed Valhalla" will be released this year, with a placeholder date of December 31, 2020, for $39.99. A deluxe edition will also be available and will include an exclusive cover, slipcase, and a lithograph art print for the extra price 0f $79.99. The book promises an insider's look at the art direction of the game and will include concept art, production material and commentary from the creator's into Valhalla's many stunning environments, characters, and weapon designs.
The Assassin's Creed franchise is known for its rich and accurate depictions of historical worlds, ranging from Renaissance Italy to Ancient Greece in the most recent Assassin's Creed Odyssey.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla is also confirmed to be coming to next-gen consoles in the future, meaning it is certain to look extra glorious and when it eventually releases for the next generation. There are plenty of new Viking weapons and characters that have also been introduced in the game that the art book will be able to provide an extra level of detail about.
Dark Horse also announced it would be releasing a three-part prequel comic series for Assassin's Creed Valhalla titled 'Song of Glory'. Fans will be able to get their hands on the comics from October 21 which will provide a perfect lead in to the game's release in November.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla will be released on November 17 for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions coming soon.
