Dungeons and Dragons Mythic Odysseys of Theros Available Today
Dungeons and Dragons has gotten a bit more difficult to play during quarantine, but that hasn't stopped some fans from busting out their character sheets and enjoying the game in less-traditional ways, like using online services to play Dungeons and Dragons remotely. For those still rolling dice and adventuring, today marks a pretty big event: the release of Mythic Odysseys of Theros.
Starting today, Dungeons and Dragons players can pick up the hardcover version of Mythic Odysseys of Theros, the newest sourcebook in Dungeons and Dragons' enormous library of offerings. What makes the new book so unique is that it's a crossover with Wizard of the Coast's other popular franchise, Magic: The Gathering, taking place in that game's Theros setting.
The new book comes packed with a host of new content, from new races to the Bard College of Eloquence. Dungeons and Dragons sourcebooks are always an exciting way to learn more about the game's universe, not to mention extending playtime a considerable amount for adventure-hungry groups of heroes. For those that really want to get into the Theros spirit, Mythic Odysseys of Theros is also offering a special edition cover, which is also available today.
Mythic Odysseys of Theros will have a heavy emphasis on the deities in Theros, with players aligning themselves with one of fifteen gods as they embark on new types of challenges. That presents some unique opportunities, like supernatural gifts and wielding a god's weapon.
This isn't all the content that Dungeons and Dragons has on the horizon, either. Wizards of the Coast recently unveiled another campaign book called Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden, which introduces and expands on horror elements in a way previous settings haven't. That should be exciting to most D&D players, and Dungeon Masters, as horror blends incredibly well with the game.
Dungeons and Dragons: Mythic Odysseys of Theros will be available at most local comic book and game shops, as well as through other major retailers. Even those unable to meet with friends in person have options for online play, so the new sourcebook is definitely worth a try.
