Elder Scrolls: 10 Khajiit Memes That Are Hilarious (If You Have Coin)
Part of why Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is such a magnificent game and has remained as such for about ten years is due to how diverse and immersive it feels as a medieval fantasy world. With its picturesque worlds and unique races that have been a staple in the franchise for years, it's hard not to love this game despite its flaws.
Khajiit are one of the more unique races in the game. They appear as humanoid feline creatures with special powers associated with them, namely the ability to deal a ton of damage in hand-to-hand combat due to their claws. However, Khajiit also have an unusual way of life and speech, which has made them a popular target for hilarious memes.
10 Claw Fight
As one would imagine, Khajiit have a set of special skills they like to use to their advantage when in combat. They behave in a very feline manner when engaged in a fight, and have been reported to actually fold their ears just like actual cats.
It's then no surprise they also deal extra damage when using their claws to attack an enemy. Unarmed punches from a Khajiit in Skyrim deal about 12 damage points, which is pretty significant compared to other species.
9 Unexpected Hybrid
Something needs to be addressed, and it's the fact that Khajiit cannot, in fact, be married in Skyrim. There are no such companions, which is most likely due to reproductive differences, or maybe something else entirely. Either way, a Khajiit husband and wife isn't something that happens.
That being said, imagine what the child of a Khajiit and another species would look like. This cat in particular is a funny and surprisingly accurate depiction of an orc and Khajiit hybrid.
8 M'aiq The Liar
When thinking about who the most iconic Khajiit character in The Elder Scrolls series is, there's one person in particular who comes to mind. M'aiq the Liar has been a staple in the universe for some time now, well-known for his yellow robes and how he likes to, well, tell lies.
Despite M'aiq being deeply unlikable and untrustworthy, fans have simply fallen in love with his character. This cat cozily wrapped in towels bears a close resemblance to everyone's favorite Khajiit.
7 Nords Vs Khajiit
It's no secret that Khajiit are often shunned by other species. They're known for making excellent thieves and assassins due to their innate, natural ability to be stealthy and agile. As such, many consider them unreliable.
Nords in particular, who tend to be pretty proud of their province, despise the idea of Khajiit coming in to sell their wares. It's why it's common to see most Khajiit caravans outside of major towns and cities in Skyrim, because they're often not allowed in.
6 Skooma
The infamous Skooma is an addictive potion that restores a bit of stamina to the player. However, in terms of lore, it's a very special concoction that seems to have some euphoria-inducing side effects, followed by a feeling of tiredness and exhaustion.
Khajiit are known to be the primary sellers of this potion, which many consider to have questionable long-term and even short-term effects. As such, they're also the most avid Skooma consumers.
5 Unsure Trade
The main utility for Khajiit is to sell their wares. They can be found often outside of major cities and towns, seated by a caravan doing such. In Skyrim in particular, there are three different caravans that travel between the holds.
These caravans are particularly great for buying Skooma and lockpicks, which might otherwise be difficult to find in general goods stores around the province. It's always up to the Khajiit whether they consider the trade fair or not, however.
4 Keep Skyrim
The interesting thing about Khajiit in Skyrim is that it's probably incredibly difficult for them to thrive in that environment. Khajiit are natives of Elsweyr, which is a province of Tamriel most famous for being quite dry and arid, with only a few lush locations.
As such, the drastic difference between the climate of Skyrim and Elsweyr is probably something that shocks most nomadic traders coming from the latter. The cold isn't exactly ideal for Khajiit.
3 Missing Wares
With Khajiit growing more popular not just as NPC characters but also as a race players are increasingly choosing at the beginning of the game, the variety in appearance that Khajiit have is becoming more evident. Depending on when they were born, they can look drastically different. Yes, sometimes they even resemble a house cat.
It's no wonder then that fans are starting to see the Khajiit in their very own cats. Some can look surprisingly close to our regular feline friends, while others have a distinctively more fantastical look.
2 The Trader
The classic and perhaps most popular meme out there has to be that of the Khajiit trader. These NPCs will often be found traveling in their little caravans and setting up shop outside of towns and cities. Many fans have recreated this meme over and over again.
The famous line "Khajiit has wares, if you have coin", has become one of the most iconic dialogue lines in the entire game. Without it, the games just wouldn't feel the same.
1 Skyrim On Ultra
Obviously, house cats have nothing to do with actual Khajiit... until the player turns on Skyrim's graphics to Ultra and downloads about a thousand mods to make the game look so realistic it feels a bit scary.
Any cat cuddled within a blanket now looks deceptively like those caravan traders in the game — a bit too real. To each player their own, however.
