Hideo Kojima Starting ‘Hideo’s Musings’ to Answer Fan Questions
Of the many talented members of the gaming and tech industry, very few can hold a candle to Hideo Kojima. Within the last several decades, Kojima has written, directed, and developed some of the most innovative and thought provoking video games the medium has to offer. While primarily known for the Metal Gear franchise, Kojima most recent title Death Stranding continues to make waves within the gaming community. Now, Kojima has plans in order to be more open and social with his loyal fanbase.
Hideo Kojima has been a figurehead within both the gaming industry and community for several years. When the first Metal Gear game released for the NES, it practically invented the stealth genre of gaming and cultivated an entire market of players interested in those kinds of experiences. With every subsequent release, Kojima would continue to innovate and build upon his work, fine-tuning the gameplay of Metal Gear Solid to perfection. With Death Stranding, Kojima compelled players from around the world to come together and help each other in an online community setting.
With all of the success and notoriety he has gained over the years, Kojima has cultivated a large following of fans. Many of Kojima's fans began to refer to him as a prophet seeing as Death Stranding's narrative draws many parallels to the present day, what with COVID-19 plaguing the world. While he has a Twitter account, Kojima never really talks with his fans one on one. Though, the developer has now found a way to interact with fans.
Kojima is now launching a fan Q&A on Twitter called "Hideo's Musings." This Twitter campaign could be potentially daily and will address many frequently asked questions given by fans. The first question is "Which creators and actors currently have your attention?" This is in reference to Kojima's love of film making.
This hopefully gives many fans further insight into Kojima's thought process and approach to his work, as well as his personal interests and favorite games or movies. Given how much of an anomaly Hideo Kojima is within the gaming industry, this will give many an excellent idea about how his mind works.
For how much love Kojima has received from both the gaming industry and community alike, Death Stranding did not resonate with many who played it. Kojima is definitely self-aware about Death Stranding's sales compared to some of his more prolific titles. Though, with how much Kojima and his colleagues have teased in terms of future projects, surely there is something upcoming for fans to be excited about.
