Nintendo Leaks Reveal Strange Cameo in F-Zero X Texture Files
The Nintendo Gigaleak continues to be a fascinating source for information surrounding builds of old Nintendo games. While some have managed to find unused models of cut human NPCs in Animal Crossing, others have managed to find unused models in other games. In fact, one person managed to find the data for a very strange cameo for F-Zero X by searching through the texture files.
Nintendo is no stranger to having cameos and making references to other characters in its games. The Legend of Zelda series frequently makes references to various Mario characters throughout the series' history and can be found as early as the very first Zelda game.
However, the cameo that was unearthed from the F-Zero X data by Twitter user @Zeether77 was not that of another Nintendo property. They found none other than The Great Cornholio himself: Beavis from Beavis and Butthead, leaving all of social media flabbergasted.
Many fans have begun speculating why Beavis would have been included in the game at all. While some believe that he may have been used as a placeholder, it seems like an awfully large amount of work to put that much detail into this model for it to only be a placeholder. Considering that only Beavis's head has been found so far, it might be safe to assume that he was likely not going to be a playable character.
While this would've been Beavis's only appearance on the Nintendo 64, that doesn't mean he and Butthead have never appeared in a video game before. The Beavis and Butthead licensed video game appeared on the Sega Genesis and SNES in 1994 and was met with overwhelmingly negative criticism.
Surprisingly enough, Beavis being found in F-Zero X is not the strangest thing that has been found thanks to the Nintendo Gigaleak. A canceled hockey RPG arcade port named Hit the Ice was also uncovered recently as part of this leak, where players would've been able to walk around town and gain quests from NPCs. It seems like every day more strange and exciting details are coming out about this Gigaleak, and one can't help but wonder what will come out next.
