PlayStation Announces Documentary Featuring Hideo Kojima, Mark Cerny, and More
A new Playstation documentary is on the way in honor of the console's upcoming 25th anniversary on December 3. It will be called From Bedrooms To Billions: The PlayStation Revolution and be available on September 7, 2020, on iTunes, Amazon, Vimeo, and other platforms. It will also have a physical release on Bluray and DVD.
The PlayStation Revolution will detail how the PlayStation managed to become a household name and cover its exploits from the PlayStation 1, all the way to the development of the PlayStation 5. The documentary will comprise itself of interviewers taken from some of PlayStation's most key contributors to accomplish this.
Snippets from some of these interviews appear in a new trailer for the documentary, revealing that the project will divulge points of view from both famous game creators and high-level PlayStation employees. Here's the full list of guests in the documentary:

The PlayStation Revolution is being developed by filmmakers Anthony and Nicola Caulfield, the duo responsible for 2014's From Bedrooms to Billions documentary, which chronicled the story of Britain's video game industry from 1979 to the then-present. The Caulfields' revealed that they wanted to make PlayStation Revolution nearly four years ago, so this official announcement for it was a long time coming.
A special edition version of The PlayStation Revolution will release sometime after the original. It'll be the same PlayStation documentary but will have these added features and interviews:
- Creating Wipeout — A 10-minute and 31-seconds interview with game creator Nick Burcombe and Psygnosis founder Ian Hetherington.
- Creating Gran Turismo — A 19-minutes and 12-seconds interview with creator Kazunori Yamauchi.

It goes without saying that PlayStation fans will love what this documentary has to say, as it talks about how PlayStation managed to survive and thrive despite the video game industry being dominated by Sega and Nintendo at the time. But really, anyone interested in video game history will probably like what this documentary has to offer.
