Call of Duty Streamer Explains How They Solved The 2020 Crate Puzzle
The mystery of the Call of Duty 2020 crates has been solved by a dedicated streamer and his community. After solving what has quickly become known as one of the hardest Easter eggs in Call of Duty history, YouTuber NoahJ456 has released a small clip explaining how his team got to the bottom of a strange mystery.
For those who do not know a bunch of mysterious crates were sent to Call of Duty streamers across the world. Each box had instructions to not open it until the 10th at a specific time. Inside of these boxes were projectors with varying images meant to be pieced together in an elaborate puzzle.
Streamer NoahJ456 has unveiled how he and his friends pieced together such a unique mystery. Starting with several different Call of Duty themed slides on a projector the streamer combined different letters, symbols, and varying bits of information with several other package recipients, as each box held unique slides. From there they pieced together a teaser of the map Summit, which had just received a map update on both Black Ops and Black Ops 4. Summit's computers had images that matched those found on the projector screens.
Combining those with the projector, they created a key that used the clocks on the map to decode a cipher, which produced the phrase "turn 11 white." Shortly after they discovered a second message which read: "Bish you were here" which was a reference to a famous chess match during the Cold War between USA and Russia.
From there they combined both pieces of information to determine what happened on turn 11 white during that game to discover that a pawn took a pawn instigating the biggest blunder in chess history. This leads them to pawntakespawn.com which reveals a website that looks like the Call of Duty release location.
To double down their victory, Activision contacted them informing them that this was only the first step towards the full reveal and that more puzzles will be coming in the near future. All eyes on are on the blank TV for more information as the clock on right-hand side blinks waiting to be set with the appropriate launch date and count down. There will be even more chaos and puzzle-solving goodness in the Call of Duty community come Friday when the next step is revealed and the race for answers is on once again.
Call of Duty 2020 is being developed by Treyarch and Raven Software.
