Death Stranding Novel English Translation Dropping Later This Year

Death Stranding has been a very interesting and unique case in terms of Sony’s recent first-party releases. The game initially received many mixed, and even some low, review scores from fans and critics alike.

However, Death Stranding’s reputation has skyrocketed following its release on PC, with incredibly high sales and fan reception. Now, Death Stranding’s official novelization looks to be finally receiving an English translation according to Amazon.

As mentioned above, Death Stranding got amazing reception on PC. The game was able to find an entirely new audience who praised many aspects of the game that were overhauled because of the new platform. As such, the game has been selling a lot more than it initially did while being a PS4 exclusive title. Thanks to this more positive reception, many new avenues could be opening up for the game’s creator Hideo Kojima and the Death Stranding IP as a whole.

There have been long swirling rumors that Sony was unhappy with Death Stranding’s sales. While the game’s PC release may not be changing that hypothetical stance, it sure is doing some good for Kojima and the Death Stranding IP. For those who may not know, Death Stranding received an official novelization in Japan that hadn’t officially been translated for Western audiences. Yet, it seems one very perceptive Reddit user discovered an Amazon page for an official English translation for Volume One of the novelization.

Volume One of the novelization is apparently 304 pages long, so fans will have a lot of material to sink into ones it releases on November 3, 2020, in both Kindle and paperback versions. Unfortunately, at the moment it seems that hardcover versions won’t be available for purchase. Still, this novelization is only more good news for Western fans of Death Stranding and Kojima Productions. Now, there’s a much better chance that Kojima’s teases about Death Stranding 2 could hold even more weight. Though, when fans could see that is anyone’s guess.

Death Stranding’s novelization was teased by Kojima on his Instagram back in February of this year. Western fans have had to wait quite a bit for an official English translation, but thankfully the wait was nowhere as long as it could have been, as many other Japanese properties have been translated far slower if at all. Fans can look forward the English release of Death Stranding’s novelization later this fall.

Death Stranding is available now on PS4 and PC.
