Destiny 2 Solstice of Heroes Armor Upgrade Guide | Game Rant
The annual Solstice of Heroes event is about to launch in Destiny 2, celebrating all the events of the past year since the Shadowkeep expansion launched. With it brings the return of the European Aerial Zone play space, and the grind for the fancy golden armor sets for players to earn.
Thankfully, YouTuber xHOUNDISHx has shared a guide on the most efficient way to upgrade the armor sets, which causes the Solstice Armor to glow white. This year, players will have to upgrade from the rare Renewed set to the Majestic set (which has no glow), to then the fully upgraded Magnificent set, while following a variety of objectives. Each class has different objectives than the other, so don't expect to do the same grind three times on all characters, but Houndish has explained how to achieve these in the fastest route. Note that elemental glows for these sets will be available for purchase in the Destiny 2 Eververse Store once they unlock the Legendary variant, which will cost 1500 Silver or 6000 Bright Dust.
- Complete 5 Strikes, get 50 Headshots and collect Elemental Orbs (run a Solar Subclass for Titan and Warlock, and Arc for Hunter)
- Complete 5 Crucible or Gambit Matches, defeat 25 Guardians, and collect Elemental Orbs (Arc for Warlock, Void for Titan and Solar for Hunter)
- Complete European Aerial Zone runs, collect Solstice Packages (found in the chests at the end of EAZ activity) and get Subclass Kills (Void for Warlock, Arc for Titan and Solar for Hunter)
- Complete 5 Adventures (Collect any spare Elemental Orbs, complete Subclass Kills and Precision Kills that remain)
- Complete 5 Public Events (Collect any spare Elemental Orbs, complete Subclass Kills and Precision Kills that remain)
NOTE: It is unclear if the Contact Public Event on Io and Titan will count towards the 5 Public Events, so do these with caution.
Extra enemy kills can be completed in Lost Sectors as well, with Cabal found in the Ma'adim Subterrane on Mars (Warlocks), Hive in the Core Terminus on Mars (Titans) and Fallen in the Atrium on the EDZ (Hunters).
- Complete 10 Gambit Matches, match the Subclass to the Element of the Day and get Elemental Weapon Kills (Solar for Titan, Arc for Hunter, Void for Warlock)
- Complete Crucible Matches to get Guardian Kills with Elemental Weapons (Arc for Titan, Void for Hunter, Solar for Warlock)
- Complete 10 Heroic Public Events and 5 Patrols (on Io for Titan, EDZ for Hunter, Titan for Warlock), and collect Orbs and continue Elemental Weapon Kills
- Complete Strike Playlist runs and Elemental Weapon Kills
- Complete EAZ runs, kill enemies (Fallen for Titan, Cabal for Hunter, Hive for Warlock) with matching Elemental Subclass of the Day
- Run relevant Lost Sectors to complete enemy kills and any leftover kills required for objectives
NOTE: All objectives are not listed but will be completed when following this order, such as boss kills in Gambit, Strikes, and EAZ runs.
- Helmet: Complete a Nightfall: The Ordeal strike on Master Difficulty
- Arms: Complete a Nightmare Hunt on the Moon
- Chest: Complete the "Pit of Heresy" on the Moon
- Legs: Win matches in Trials of Osiris (not in a row)
- Class Item: Defeat the final boss in Altars of Sorrow
NOTE: These objectives can be completed after the event finishes to gain a glow effect on the armor.
Houndish explains these steps clearly in the video, clearly detailing how to complete each of the objectives in all classes. These are only recommended paths to complete the objectives as fast as possible, but as the Solstice of Heroes event runs from August 11 to September 8, players have plenty of time to spread out these objectives. The MMXX Triumph seal will also contain a few objectives to complete during the event, so make sure to check those out as well.
Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One. PS5 and Xbox Series X versions are also in development.
