Halo Infinite Grappling Hook Will Function Differently in Multiplayer
Since the campaign demo for Halo Infinite was revealed back in late July, fans of the series have been asking how the multiplayer works. For many in the Halo community, multiplayer is an integral part of the franchise. As 343 Industries continues to reveal multiplayer details little by little, one piece of information regarding the grappling hook has caught the attention of many.
For the last two years, official news regarding Halo Infinite has been very few and far between. Though after Microsoft showed Halo Infinite campaign footage a little over a week ago, there was suddenly been a tremendous outpour of information regarding various facets of the game, and the multiplayer is no exception to this.
One of the new mechanics being brought to the table is the inclusion of a grappling hook. This excited numerous fans, but also raised questions about how the grappling hook would function in multiplayer. Now, thanks to a recent post on Halo Waypoint, it has been confirmed that the grappling hook will be featured in multiplayer, but not in the way fans might have expected.
In Halo Reach, one of the new features that were added was different ability attachments that players could pick up, such as a jet-pack ability or the sprinting ability. In Halo Infinite's multiplayer, the grappling hook works essentially the same way, only the grappling hook will be hidden somewhere in the map for players to find. This should give Halo Infinite's multiplayer an additional competitive element.
Within the last week, 343 Industries have given Halo fans a lot to look forward to and consider. Though, for how much information the Halo community knows about the game, there's still tons of information that remains to be seen. Holiday 2020 is right around the corner and fans still don't know when this game will be coming out, let alone how the multiplayer itself will function. Although, there have been rumors that Halo Infinite multiplayer footage will be revealed in August.
In any case, from what has been shown, this game looks to be a lot of fun. With semi-open world mission types, plenty of weapon variance, and numerous returning elements from previous Halo games, Halo Infinite seems to be a very promising upcoming title. Only time will tell if Microsoft and 343 Industries can finally deliver after two long years of waiting.
Halo Infinite is set to launch in Holiday of 2020 for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
