Modern Warfare Season 5 Changes that Weren't in the Patch Notes

The release of Season 5 in Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare brought tons of new content to the game. The massive patch has redefined fan-favorite features of the game while adding some extra hidden content in the background. Fans of Warzone have been discovering each secret item through trial and error while enjoying the new frontal features that Season 5 has to offer.

Although there are obvious changes, like the hole in the roof of Stadium or the massive train traveling across the map, players are more impressed by the small details scattered across the map. Warzone Season 5 has so far been a fan favorite in its promotion and execution, with lots of Battle Pass rewards that fans value alongside new operators and weapons that are borderline game-changing.

A majority of the changes are in the Warzone game mode. This is no surprise to fans as Season 5's promotion was almost completely revolving around the Warzone story and map. Players immediately noticed that footsteps have been boosted, allowing lower-end headsets to have an easier time hearing enemy footsteps. Ladder movement has also been buffed, along with an interesting feature that guarantees an armor plate drop on every kill despite what the enemy may have been holding.

Self-Revive and Munition Box prices have been adjusted with a $500 increase to both. Players have also found red and green propane tanks scattered around the map. The red ones cause regular explosions while the green ones cause gas explosions. Keep in mind that players can pick up and carry the propane tanks around the map.

One of the more in-depth changes is how Warzone's armor plates function numerically. Player armor that takes less than 10 damage will replenish a full bar of armor instead of just topping off the damaged bar. Any more than 10 damage and the plate will top off the existing bar like normal. Players also noticed that the High Alert perk now includes a verbal warning alongside its on-screen flashing, and Warzone fans can now find a more durable gas mask.

Modern Warfare has received some minor changes as well, including the verbal warning to the High Alert perk mentioned above. Grau now has a new "Squall" barrel attachment that can be unlocked and blueprint weapons that are stripped down to no attachments now have a new look. In Gunfight and Spec Ops, players now have the ability to ping areas, enemies, and objects in the exact fashion found in Warzone.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
