10 Collector's Edition Xbox Ones We'd Totally Blow Our Savings On
Not only do gamers love modding their favorite games, but the most avid fans customize their consoles too. Just like speed racers would to their Japanese import vehicles, every now and then, Microsoft will take the liberty of doing it for them.
Though they can only be earned through million to one prize draws, or by forking over a good chunk of savings, some limited edition Xbox consoles are so beautiful that it’s totally worth it. Here are the ten most mouth-watering limited edition Xbox Ones, some of them so limited that only one exists.
10 Shadow of the Tomb Raider
This custom Tomb Raider console was sold for charity, with the proceeds going to Best Friends. The console is one of the most detailed custom-built Xboxes out there, with intricate Mayan patterns and tree vines wrapping around the console.
Considering this console was created in conjunction with one of the best Tomb Raider games to have been released, purchasing the Xbox might seem like a no brainer. Well, that might have been the case if the console was not sold for $7,600. Great for Best Friends, not so much for gamers’ wallets.
9 Minecraft
Minecraft might have seen tons of changes and upgrades since its release, but none have been as physical as this. The Xbox looks like something that was built by Minecraft miners. It features the iconic grass blocks and red stone, and it comes with a green creeper controller.
The console even makes Minecraft sounds when it is being turned on and when the disc drive is being opened. The Minecraft console is also extremely limited, in fact, it has been discontinued. Nevertheless, it is available to purchase used, although it will likely burn fiery holes in wallets, costing in the region of $500.
8 Game of Thrones
The final season of Game of Thrones might be far in the rearview mirror by now, but it still lives on in many forms, two of them being the most exclusive console designs the Xbox has ever seen. The Night King and the Targaryen consoles are covered in bronze leather and tin with the Targaryen house crest.
There was only ever one of each console available, and they were handed out in a Twitter sweepstakes giveaway. Consequently, they may be impossible to find, and players may have to re-mortgage their houses to buy them if they do find them.
7 Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
With Advanced Warfare being one of the highest-selling Call of Duty games, Activision cashed in on its success by releasing this magnificent looking Xbox. The console has the Sentinel Task Force Iconography emblazoned on to its top and the wireless controller looks like it was plucked right out of one of the game’s futuristic battlefields.
The console is matte black and grey with a classy brass trim that goes along the disk drive. Powering the console or ejecting the disk drive will trigger Advanced Warfare sound effects too.
6 Halo 5: Guardians
This limited edition Xbox One console and its themed controllers have lavish two-tone paneling and blue metallic accents. This ode to the Master Chief also features the sound of a plasma grenade charging when the console is turned on, which is a cool feature for fans.
A limited edition version of the fifth main entry in the Halo series, which is one of the best Xbox One exclusives, also comes with the console. This makes the price of the console a little easier to swallow.
5 Gears 5
Though Gears 5 might not have been the most acclaimed game of the Xbox exclusive series (though it was one of the best multiplayer games of 2019,) this limited edition console does pack some of the best Gears of War iconography.
The iconic Crimson Omen is at the front and center of the console, which looks like it has been dug up in the Antarctic. It also comes with a cool metallic controller, and included in the bundle are free downloads of all the previous games too.
4 Cyberpunk 2077
With Cyberpunk 2077 being one of the most anticipated games of the fall, Microsoft did not jump the gun by announcing this limited edition console so far ahead of its release, as it sold out rapidly.
There are so many intricacies of this limited edition Xbox One, with a worn yellow and purple look. The controller is one of the most detailed designs of a limited console too. The “no future” is scuffed into the right-hand side while the left analog stick is white with red underneath. The game is also included with the console as a download upon release.
3 Iron Man
Alongside the launch of one of the best movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Captain America: Civil War, Microsoft released this Iron Man special edition of the Xbox One.
The console and controller are branded with the Stark Industries logo, and the top of the console has the blue arc reactor. The whole console is a sleek white, but considering it’s an Iron Man special edition, the color scheme is questionable, as it’s severely lacking red and gold.
2 Paul Walker
Though this design couldn’t be less related to gaming if it tried, it might just be the coolest of them all. Alongside the release of Furious 7 and after the sad passing of Paul Walker, Xbox designed a version of the Xbox One in the actor's honor.
Modeled after the first car Paul Walker’s character, Brian O’Conner, owned in The Fast and the Furious, the console shares the same vibrant blue and green design. The Xbox is even signed by Walker’s co-stars and friends, including Vin Diesel and Tyrese Gibson.
1 Jordan
This special edition Xbox One is so limited that there is only one of them that exists in the world. In a Twitter competition in which this console was the prize, hundreds of thousands of people entered the draw.
The console’s look is modeled after the Air Jordan III Retro U sneaker. With a sleek red color all over and the iconic Jordan logo as a seal of authenticity, this console is without a doubt one of the most sought after limited edition models in existence.
