Activision Has Patched Call of Duty Warzone Update Bug
The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 6 update went out early on Tuesday, and many fans were met with a troubling problem. Players on multiple platforms reported that attempts to boot Modern Warfare or Warzone after the update would result in immediate crashes and error prompts.
With the highly anticipated metro station being added to Warzone and the Modern Warfare battle pass entering its newest season, the crashes were untimely for many fans. Players rushed to update their system in hopes of experience new content only to be blocked by a Modern Warfare bug. Still, Infinity Ward has been quick to not only identify the problem but send out a fix.
Shortly after the issue was reported, Infinity Ward quickly retweeted Activision Support's notice that they are investigating the issue. Infinity Ward then kept fans updated frequently throughout the process reporting that they would have a fix on September 30th for the strange error. The response time for Infinity Ward to fix this issue was reassuring to many members of the community as a quick fix lets them get into Season 6's action faster.
As promised, early afternoon on September 30th a patch rolled out that resolved the strange glitch across all platforms, with the patch coming in less than 24 hours of the problem being brought to Infinity Ward's attention. Modern Warfare Season 6 is planned to be even bigger than previous seasons, with a unique event appearing near the end of the month.
While many bugs and glitches can go weeks without having a fix, it is good to know that Infinity knows when to prioritize major problems with quick turnarounds. The speed of this fix reassures members of the community in the comments that Infinity Ward is actively working on problems.
There is a subtle concern among the game's community that a new patch may break other factors of the game accidentally, but overall it seems that nothing has happened as a result of this fix thus far. Activision Support has a long list of problems, based on the public Trello, that it still needs to fix. Many popular community concerns are on that list waiting for the proper time to patch each issue.
Still, the fast turn around on game-breaking bugs means a lot to many fans. As Infinity Ward nears Black Ops Cold War's launch improving Modern Warfare will continue to be an important job.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
