Dead by Daylight: Descend Beyond Chapter Gets Release Date
The multiplayer horror game Dead by Daylight has been around for a few years, but despite coming out in 2016 it has retained a popular following. One of the things Behavior Interactive does to keep the game's community thriving is add content like characters and settings from Konami's Silent Hill. The next chapter of the game adding new content now has a confirmed release date.
Many fans are excited for the Descend Beyond chapter DLC and what it will bring to the game. However, until recently there was no specific date that fans could expect this content to arrive in Dead by Daylight. On Thursday, Behavior Interactive took to Twitter to let fans know they can experience the Descend Beyond for themselves on September 8.
A short trailer shows off a Pustula Flower dripping with potent liquid. The social media post says this chapter will be online next week, and Behavior Interactive also gave its fans an update regarding the hill bug that some players have been experiencing. This Descend Beyond DLC update on September 8 will patch the issue, but until then the developers put out a "wet floor" sign to tell players what area they should avoid.
This Dead by Daylight chapter brings two new playable characters, a killer and a survivor, as well as a new map that players can explore. Its killer, The Blight, draws on the serum created from the Pustula Flower, which amplifies his physical abilities and gives him access to three special perks that work with the rest of his abilities.
This chapter also introduces Felix Richter, described as a visionary architect who was looking for his father when he disappeared. Felix has special abilities like being able to see the auras of generators within a certain distance, which brings an interesting addition to the pool of Dead by Daylight survivors that players can use as they attempt to escape from its collection of killers.
On September 8, players will get to see these new characters in action as they try to escape or take down the survivors. After Descend Beyond is released, it will be interesting to see who Behavior Interactive sets up to be the next killer in future chapters of Dead by Daylight as the game adds features like cross-play.
Dead by Daylight is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with PS5, Stadia, and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
