Ocarina Of Time: Every Goron's Location Inside The Fire Temple
Ocarina of Time's Fire Temple contains several upgrades, including the Megaton Hammer and the Fire Medallion. It is accessible as Adult Link, and it is located on top of Death Mountain. In order to beat the temple though, Link must free all nine Gorons. Each Goron gives Link a door key, and the final Goron gives him the boss key.
Upon entering the temple, Darunia asks Link to free his boulder brothers who are trapped inside the temple, thanks to Ganon, who wants to use them as Dragon food. This isn't ideal, so it's Link's job to save the Gorons while also defeating the boss and receiving the Fire Medallion. Each Goron is in a different location though, so it's going to take some work. This guide details how players can free each Goron to progress throughout the temple.
9 The First Trapped Goron
The first Goron is located past the pillars on the left. Cross them and step on the button near the cell. This will free the first Goron, and he will give Link a hint about what to do to progress further.
For freeing the Goron, Link gets a chest. This chest contains a small key, which is used to unlock the door that's on the right in the main room. Now, go back to the very first room where Link originally came in to start this temple, and unlock the door.
8 The Second Trapped Goron
After entering the locked room, go about one fourth of the way across the bridge to see a rocky path on the left. Jump onto it, then cross the two square platforms. These shake and go under the lava quickly, so don't stall. Fried Link can't free Gorons or beat bosses.
Go into the door and through the hallway to end up at another cell. Step on the switch to free the second Goron. Link will receive another small key that will be used to progress.
7 The Third Trapped Goron
Exit the previous room and go back to the temple's central room with the bridge. Go straight across the platforms, watch out for the Bubbles (flying skulls), and make way to the rock under the bridge. There are two rocks, but Link needs to be on the one on the right. Walk up the plank to the next platform and jump down onto the moving squares. Cross them and end up on a flat area near a bombable wall.
Bomb this wall to reveal a door. Enter the door to find another cell with a trapped Goron. He'll talk about the Goron's "special crop," which in layman's terms is simply a bomb item. Step on the switch to free him. Open the chest to get yet another small key.
6 The Fourth Trapped Goron
This Goron is located in the maze room. This isn't the easiest section, but just have patience. Go to the top right of the maze while avoiding the rolling boulders to find a door. Enter this door to find another trapped Goron.
Free him by pressing the button like always, and receive a key. Then go ahead and exit the room to find the fifth Goron brother.
5 The Fifth Trapped Goron
Exit the door and make way to the bottom left hand side of the maze room. There's a cell there with a Goron awaiting.
This one is pretty simple if players can just navigate the annoying rolling boulders. Press the button again to free him and receive another key.
4 The Sixth Trapped Goron
This fella is trapped on the second level of the maze area. In short, Link needs to cross the top part of the maze rather than traversing the inner walls. To get there, go to the locked door in the maze which leads to room where the fire chases Link across the metal platforms. Link will reach a door on the right that leads to the top of the maze.
Stand on top of the walls and cross the room until the platform with the switch is in sight. Step on the switch to access another Goron.
3 The Seventh Trapped Goron
Head toward the entrance to the maze top until a platform with a gash in it appears. Bomb this area to open up a new area with a ladder. Drop down to find another Goron to set free.
Now it's time to go get the Megaton Hammer and free the last two Gorons. It's just like a Legend of Zelda game to drop another new item that isn't really necessary until the said item magically appears. Who cares though, it's still cool nonetheless.
2 The Eighth Trapped Goron
Zelda temples aren't always easy to navigate, and this Goron is a good example of that. After getting the Megaton Hammer, go back to the door Link came in. There's going to be a raised square with a face, and Link must hit it with the Megaton Hammer. Jump down into the hole it leaves behind, and hit the two statues with the Megaton Hammer to reveal a door.
After entering the door. there will be a raised platform. Hit it with the hammer to create stairs that lead to a switch and a door. Pick up one of the boxes before heading down the stairs, then put the box on the switch. Enter that door.
Hit another block to enter another room. Jump to the right of the barred door and hit the rusted switch. Enter that room, jump over to the Song of Time block and play the Song of Time to reveal another rusty switch. Hit that switch, jump down to the Goron, and free him. He tells Link how to get to the mini boss. Use the Song of Time block to exit the room.
1 The Ninth (And Final) Trapped Goron
Link cannot free this one until he beats the dancing mini boss. After that battle is over, an area will open up that leads to another trapped Goron. This time, there's a bigger chest: a boss key chest. Finally, something at least slightly different.
Open it to receive the boss key. This is the final Goron, and the main part of the temple is complete. Now it's time to find the boss and restore peace to the Gorons once again!
