Call of Duty: Warzone FOV Bug Seemingly Lowers Recoil | Game Rant
A newly discovered setting in Call of Duty: Warzone has once again sparked discussion over no-recoil weapon builds, as many pro players are claiming that an unusual field-of-view setting will give certain weapons less visual recoil when toggled. This discovery adds to the constantly shifting Call of Duty: Warzone meta as the season continues to progress.
Streamers are applying the "Affected FOV" setting to the Cr-56 AMAX, which was known as the Galil in past games, in an attempt to lower the weapons recoil. The Cr-56 AMAX is a solid rifle used by both casual and competitive players. Although it has fallen out of favor in the meta during Season 6, this new "secret" setting may bring it back into the spotlight.
The video was uploaded by Call of Duty streamer and content creator Swagg, revealing the setting. Found in the game's field of view options on PC, the setting allows Warzone players to change their FOV type. Swagg believes that by turning the "Affected FOV" on recoil is reduced by a large margin. "Affected FOV on PC makes guns feel like they don't have recoil," comments Swagg in his video. The setting has encouraged him to use the AMAX more frequently, as one of its few downsides is the recoil control, which the setting helps fix.
The Cr-56 AMAX is not the best gun of its class, but it does have one of the highest base stats in the game when it comes to damage per second. Reducing recoil makes the gun a strong competitive option, but attachments can only do so much. While the gun appears to recoil less with the Affected FOV setting enabled, it is unclear if this an intended effect or just a bug. One thing fans do know, however, is that the FOV adjustment works well for Swagg and his fellow content creator booya.
This is not the first time that this setting has come up in discussion. Call of Duty YouTuber Webzy highlighted this difference in a previous video. His video echoes the same sentiment that Swagg was sharing and claimed it was easier to hit shots with the setting enabled.
If this is true, it would only go to strengthen the argument for console players to have access to FOV controls. If PC fans can prove there is an advantage, then crossplay games will automatically put console fans at a disadvantage to any PC user that has changed their settings.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
