Crusader Kings 3 Mod Lets Players Convert Save to Europa Universalis 4
For Crusader Kings 3 fans excited about experiencing history, a new mod can help bridge the gap between different time periods. Paradox Interactive has given fans a lot of flexibility to shape the game with Crusader Kings 3 mods, with a variety that allows players to do things like rearrange menu layouts, interact with Native Americans, and even become a vampire king to start a playthrough with supernatural powers.
One interesting mod allows players to convert their save file from the beginning of Crusader Kings 3 over to Europa Universalis 4, another series developed by Paradox Interactive. This allows players to experience history from the Viking age of 867 to the end of Europa Universalis 4 in 1821, during the early modern period.
The Crusader Kings 3 converter mod piggybacks off an older one that allowed for Crusader Kings 2 strategy game save files to be brought into the Europa Universalis 4 timeline. The mod converts all of a player's custom stuff as well, but the conversion will only work if the save file is set before the late middle ages in 1444 — the beginning date for when Europa Universalis 4 takes place.
The mod will preserve Crusader Kings 3 cultures, religions, rulers, and advisors, among other things. There are also methods of transferring Crusader Kings 3 buildings to have them become provincial development points in Europa Universalis 4. While still in development, the converter mod is available on the Steam Workshop tab within the Crusader Kings 3 home page. However, fans may have to wait before they can start colonizing and developing modern technology, as there are currently issues that make this transfer more difficult.
The mod was developed by the same people who created other Paradox Interactive grand strategy game converters, so they have a history of making impressive mods for this kind of title. History buffs should be interested in getting the opportunity to experience almost one thousand years of human development and warp it with their own unique vision.
If those players want to take things a step further, they can also transfer their save files to Victoria 2 and Hearts of Iron 4 in order to put more years under their belt. For those who would rather stick with the base game, fans will have to settle for making their Crusader Kings 3 dynasty as best as it can be. That is, if players can handle the harsh realities of running an empire for that amount of time.
Crusader Kings 3 is available now on PC.
