Destiny 2 Bringing Back Double Rewards for Nightfall Strikes
Bungie's most recent "This Week At Destiny" news update on the company's official blog focuses primarily on what players can expect to see in the upcoming Festival of the Lost event. However, alongside the return of Destiny 2's Halloween themed event, Bungie is also bringing back double rewards for Nightfall strikes.
This isn't the first time that Bungie has offered double rewards for Destiny 2 players jumping into specific Nightfall strikes, as this increased loot has been offered as recently as mid-September. So, with the double rewards appearing around the same time as Festival of the Lost, this new reason to jump into some of the game's most difficult activities is looking to become a regular occurrence.
These double rewards won't be coming to all of Destin 2's Nightfall strikes, but specifically to the Nightfall: The Ordeal playlist, meaning that the basic difficulties won't offer the same rewards. However, thanks to The Ordeal's matchmaking difficulties, this does mean that solo players will still have access to these activities and their increased rewards. Considering how important some of these rewards can be to customizing and upgrading a player's favorite weapons and gear, these double rewards are a huge boon to players.
One of the most important drops from these Nightfall: The Ordeal strikes is the steady rate of drops for enhancement prisms and ascendant shards that can help players obtain and upgrade Masterwork gear. So, anyone on the hunt for the best weapons in Destiny 2 will want to make the most of the double rewards in order to keep at the top of their game. Making sure to collect as much of these resources as possible will go a long way when getting ready to quickly upgrade the new weapons and armor coming with Beyond Light in November.
Double rewards of any kind is always well received for any game like Destiny 2 with dozens of resources, experience, and season pass rewards to collect in order to unlock the ever-growing list of loot. With the Beyond Light expansion right around the corner, players have plenty of reason to jump into the Nightfall, especially if they are looking to finish up their collections before Bungie starts sunsetting gear. So, as the next set of DLC will be asking players to restart the grind once again, getting a head start with a vault full of enhancement prisms and ascendant shards may be just the edge they'll need to start tackling the new content.
Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
