Fortnite: How to Consume Foraged Items | Game Rant
Fortnite’s weekly challenges for Week 6 of Season 4 offer a wide variety of actions and activities for players to complete. Fortnite is still in the midst of its massive Season 4 Marvel crossover event and while some challenges pertain to the event, most of the others are fairly standard challenges for Fortnite.
One of the challenges this week is a bit specific, tasking players with consuming foraged items at the Holly Hedges location. Consuming foraged items in Fortnite was added to the game during the start of Season 2, and luckily the mechanic hasn’t changed much.
The challenges for Week 6 of Season 4 offer a lot of variety in completing the list. The "Consume Foraged Items at Holly Hedges" challenge shouldn’t be too difficult, but the fact that players must go to specific locations adds a bit of a twist.
First off, players need to know what exactly qualifies as “foraged items” in Fortnite. Initially, foraged items in Fortnite meant mushrooms and apples that players could find and collect around the map. Eventually, foraged items were expanded to include more items like bananas, peppers, corn, and cabbages. Additionally, item caches called Noms Boxes can be found around the map which can yield a variety of foraged items. Basically, any fruit, vegetable, or mushroom that players can eat counts as a foraged item.
The second part of the challenge makes things a bit trickier due to the specifics. To complete the challenge, players need to consume a foraged item specifically at the Holly Hedges location on Fortnite’s map. Thankfully, this challenge can be easily completed provided players start the match with a little bit of luck and are quick on their feet. If players drop at Holly Hedges, they can find cabbages growing in some of the backyards, specifically behind the house with a blue-painted upper half in the northwest portion of the area.
Additionally, Noms Boxes can spawn inside many of the houses throughout Holly Hedges and should not be difficult to find. Knowing that, players can quickly pick up and consume either the cabbages or items from an available Noms Box to complete the challenge. Holly Hedges isn’t the most popular spot for squads to drop during Season 4, so with any luck players will be alone in the area.
If Holly Hedges didn’t have cabbage patches or Noms Boxes, this challenge might have been a bit more difficult. Luckily, players should be able to mark this challenge off the list with relative ease. While foraged items haven’t changed too much since July, the game did see a few tweaks and changes through Fortnite’s newest v14.20 patch. Though, the patch mostly dealt with adding new skins for Fortnite’s birthday and Marvel crossover.
Fortnite is available now on Android devices, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
