Overwatch 2: 10 Things From The Comics That Should Come To The Game
Though the original game does little to reveal the story, fans have been begging for more plot since Overwatch was released. Luckily, Overwatch 2 is an upcoming game that will have a campaign. Prior to this release, however, fans have gotten to learn more about the plot through comics and animated shorts.
Overwatch 2 will be focusing on Winston, Mei, and Tracer bringing the titular group back together. Fans have already seen many of its members, such as Genji, Mercy, and Reinhardt, return to save the world when they are needed again. As the game will most likely focus on the characters revealed in the trailer, players have a pretty good idea of what kinds of missions they will go on. The game may even include content that was originally shown in the comics.
10 Talon
Overwatch's greatest enemies are in a group known as Talon. Reaper, Widowmaker, and Doomfist are a few members of the organization and will probably be the main antagonists of the game. A lot of interactions between the members are in the comics and it would be great to have similar moments in the cutscenes. A few of Talon's members have already been shown in the trailer but how many will end up appearing is yet to be seen.
9 Reinhardt & Brigitte Vs. The Dragons
During their travels, Brigitte and Reinhardt found themselves in the same town as a gang known as "The Dragons." Reinhardt defeated the gang and restored peace to the town's civilians. As it is unknown where they are going, players may find out that this comic takes place on the duo's way to reunite with their allies. If this does turn out to be in Overwatch 2, fans will hopefully get to also play as Brigitte.
8 McCree's Train Ride
When sneaking a ride on a train, McCree ran into some members of Talon. Knowing how dangerous they were, McCree fought them and helped prevent the passengers from being harmed.
If McCree does appear in the upcoming game, the first comic in the series would make a good introduction to his character as it takes place after Blackwatch ended. It also shows how heroic he is, taking action even though he knows he'll be blamed for everything that goes wrong.
7 Torbjörn & The Titan
In the comic, "Torbjörn: Destroyer," the turret master revealed that he helped create a giant omnic. Incredibly dangerous, this machine was known as a titan. When it began to attack the citizens of Boklovo, Torbjörn battled against his own creation. This would be an epic boss for players to fight. Hopefully, Torbjörn built many of these powerful robots and they make an appearance in the game.
6 Junkertown
Junkrat and Roadhog are one of the greatest duos in the franchise. Fans hope that their crazy adventures continue in the game through some playable missions. Junkertown, their home, also holds one of the greatest mysteries in Overwatch's universe: Who is Junker Queen and how important is she? There is little known about her and this game may finally give players some answers.
5 Vishkar
Another powerful group in the series is Vishkar. Though they may seem like they want to make the world a better place, they are actually connected to Talon. Despite Symmetra being a member of the group and Lucio hating them for hurting his home, little is known about Vishkar. Perhaps Overwatch 2 will provide some answers and players will get to learn more about some of their favorite heroes.
4 Zarya & Sombra
The relationship between Zarya and Sombra has been a very interesting one. After Sombra threatened Katya Volskaya, the Russian leader sent Zarya to find the hacker.
However, once they met, Sombra revealed that Volskaya had been working with the omnics. If these two heroes are in the game, they will hopefully interact with each other more and maybe even work together for once.
3 Sven
When Torbjörn fought against the titan omnic, he found out that another engineer that he once worked with, Sven, was the one controlling the robot. This mad scientist may end up being a powerful foe that Overwatch has to defeat. It wouldn't be surprising if he was working with Null Sector and ends up being one of the main antagonists of the story, perhaps even joining Talon. As Torbjörn wasn't shown in the trailer for Overwatch 2, he may even fight against Sven as the group gets back together.
2 The First Team
Jack, Ana, and Gabriel were three of the most important members of the original Overwatch team. However, when Jack and Gabriel fought against each other and were thought to be dead, they started new lives as Soldier 76 and Reaper. Not knowing when their battle would resume, the two fought each other in "Ana: Old Soldiers." Ana found the two of them and joined the battle herself, joining forces with Soldier 76. Due to how important these three were in the group's history, it would be surprising if they didn't make an appearance in Overwatch 2. Fans are excited to see how their fight will continue.
1 London Calling
In the newest comic, "Tracer — London Calling #1", Tracer befriended an omnic named Iggy. Not having her comrades to help her, Tracer has been trying to save London on her own. After agreeing to help Iggy make the Underworld a better place for the omnics to live, a group of the robots attack the hero and she is forced to fight back. As there are more volumes of this comic coming soon and Overwatch 2 is right around the corner, the events of this issue may also be the start of the game. It would make sense as Tracer is likely to be one of the first playable heroes in the upcoming title.
