The Walking Dead Characters Coming to Brawlhalla | Game Rant
Blue Mammoth Games' free-to-play platform fighter Brawlhalla has grown immensely since 2014, and now features up to eight-person cross-play between every major console and mobile devices as of an August 2020 release. Part of that growth has included a number of character crossovers from a variety of television shows, movies, and video games, and the next big inclusion was confirmed to be The Walking Dead earlier today.
With just a handful of exceptions like Rayman becoming a full fighter in Brawlhalla, many of the game's crossovers have primarily added new skins for existing characters. This crossover with AMC's The Walking Dead that launches on October 14 will add three new skins: Andrew Lincoln's Rick Grimes for Barraza, Norman Reedus' Daryl Dixon for Ember, and Danai Gurira's Michonne for Koji, according to an announcement post by Ubisoft.
These skins will premiere alongside a new map based on the prison setting from The Walking Dead seasons three and four, according to Ubisoft, as well as an endless survival mode against hordes of walkers. Previous Brawlhalla crossovers with television and movie properties have included Cartoon Network's Adventure Time, Ben 10, and Steven Universe; WWE Superstars like John Cena and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson; as well as Hellboy (2019).
The Walking Dead has been on the air for over 10 years, and is preparing to start its final 11th season soon. However, the property is still seen as a television juggernaut with multiple spin-offs, and its impending conclusion has seemingly led to a handful of new crossovers with games like Magic: the Gathering and Bridge Constructor, the latter announced at Gamescom 2020.
Brawlhalla is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
