EA Play Gives Massive Boost to Xbox Game Pass Lineup | Game Rant
Xbox Game Pass currently offers a long list of games for one monthly cost. Including the likes of Doom Eternal, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, The Outer Worlds, Gears 5, Sea of Thieves, Grounded, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and many more, it's a hub for gamers on a budget.
Xbox Game Pass' service is even getting better, as the company has received an influx of close to 100 new games thanks to Microsoft's collaboration with EA. Owners of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will now have access to all of the titles available with EA Play, meaning several huge franchises and recent smash-hits are playable for a fraction of the cost.
Looking at the highlights of the merger between both subscription services, it's clear just how many massive games EA Play will bring to Game Pass. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is available, allowing players to explore the galaxy in an original Star Wars tale, while Madden NFL 20, Anthem, and The Sims 4 make the cut too. In terms of some older franchises that can now be played, the entire Mass Effect trilogy and its follow-up, Mass Effect Andromeda, are loaded onto the service, alongside the Dead Space trilogy and Skate 3. Players will also have access to every Dragon Age game and Star Wars Battlefront 2.
The service's debut on Game Pass is a monumental get for Game Pass Ultimate buyers looking for that next big experience to sink their teeth into, especially because EA holds the keys to some of gaming's biggest franchises. Unfortunately, those who only own Xbox Game Pass won't get access to the popular subscription service, with the slightly more expensive Game Pass Ultimate being essential to accessing EA Play. That being said, some new games have been added recently for all Game Pass buyers, including Gears Tactics, Planet Coaster, and Tetris Effect.
It seems Xbox Game Pass is beginning to experiment more with how its subscription service functions and what it will offer, both with this new EA Play deal and with another collaboration. Announced recently, the company has partnered with Disney to give Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers a Disney Plus 30 day free trial, with the deal needing to be utilized by January 31, 2021. It's likely a sign that Microsoft wants to make more collaborative efforts in the future, especially as it begins to lean more heavily on Xbox Game Pass as an essential part of its brand. Regardless, EA Play's arrival on the service ensures that players can enjoy a ton of huge games for a very affordable price, and it's available right now.
