Former G4TV Hosts Describe Reuniting with the Cast as 'Slipping on an Old Shoe'
One of the biggest surprises to hit the gaming community this year came at Comic-Con when G4TV announced that the popular gaming and internet culture network would be returning in 2021. It still isn't clear exactly what a revived G4TV will look like, but fans will be getting their first glimpse of what the network has planned with an upcoming Reunion Special just in time for Thanksgiving.
In preparation for this new special event, Game Rant spoke with G4TV's Adam Sessler and Kevin Pereira, two former hosts of the network's most popular shows before going off the air. While the hosts couldn't elaborate on what's coming to the network in the future, they did talk about what fans can expect from the upcoming Reunion Special, and what it was like to get the original cast back together.
Sessler described reuniting with the cast as being like "slipping into an old shoe," one that might smell a bit, but still fits comfortably. Pereira quickly claimed that this isn't the first that Sessler has compared working with different members of the cast with a description of "swampy leather" before. Considering the banter between the two over the course of the interview, the returning G4TV co-hosts were able to naturally work off of each other again.
From how it was described, it would seem that the cast was able to jump right back into the old groves set by years of working together beforehand. This wasn't the first time since G4TV went off the air that the cast members have run into each other, either through career or convention events, but this was the first time that it has been so much of the original crew together at once. So as Pereira and Sessler join former co-hosts like Olivia Munn, fans can expect to see the same level of energy as before in the Reunion Special.
While it's still unclear what the returning G4TV might look like when the network arrives in 2021, this upcoming event is looking like it'll be a familiar return to form for fans. Additionally, Pereira and Sessler commented on the Reunion Special's host Ron Funches working well alongside the rest of the cast and expertly fitting into the energy from the earlier days of G4. Most importantly, the entire Reunion Special is a charity event, with seven charities being represented by the days long Gravython where the special will premier online while being streamed by collaborating online personalities.
The GFTV Reunion Special premieres on November 24th. Fans can donate to the Gravython's various charities at Tiltify now.
