Pokemon GO Adds Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion Back to Raids for Limited Time
Pokemon GO has confirmed that it will be returning the Legendary Pokemon Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizon to 5-star raids. While the Pokemon GO November events are underway, the Legendary Unova Pokemon will be available for players to battle for a limited time throughout this week.
Players can now challenge the three Legendary Pokemon in five-star raids at 1:00 PM every day in Pokemon GO until November 24. The Pokemon GO website has already added the individual Raid Counter Guides for each of the bosses, showing off their stats, the recommended move sets, their natural weaknesses, how many players should face them, and the best Pokemon to counter them in battle.
The three Pokemon returning as Raid bosses are part of Pokemon GO's raid boss rotation cycle. For each week in November, the game rotates new Pokemon into the game for players to face as raid bosses. The five-star raid bosses started with Darkrai in late October, the second was Lugia, and now it's Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion. Their rotation started yesterday and they will remain the raid bosses until next week's rotation. The trio hasn't been seen in the game for a while now, so players will need to jump on the opportunity to face them while they can.
Since the three Pokemon are some tough customers, players should capitalize on the Raid Counter Guides while they can. From Virizion's Counter Guide, it's recommended that players form groups of 5-6 members using Flying, Psychic, Fire, Fairy, Ice, and Poison-type attacks to best it. For Cobalion, players should face it in groups of 3-5 for high-level trainers and 5-7 for low-level trainers with specific Fire and Fighting-type Pokemon for the best counters: Lucario, Charizard, Darmanitan, and Conkeldurr.
Terrakion's Raid Counter Guide shows that the Pokemon is vulnerable to Steel, Psychic, Fighting, Water, Fairy, Grass, and Ground-type attacks. The best Pokemon to counter it are Psystrike Mewtwo and Meteor Mash Metagross, and it can be taken down by a group of either four or five players if they don't have either. While Terrakion may not seem the toughest of the three raid bosses, it's still better to play it safe than sorry with this Legendary Pokemon.
With the return of these three raid bosses, there's a possibility that players will be able to battle and capture the Pokemons' shiny variants in Pokemon GO this week. As Pokemon GO's November events proceed, players will be able to face off against these Legendary Pokemon more prepared than they were before.
Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
