This Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Playhouse is Amazing
If there's a single game that has defined the Nintendo Switch, it's Breath of the Wild, one of Nintendo's biggest entries in the franchise to date, both in terms of scope and sales. It makes sense that it would inspire some amazing fan-creations, though few are as impressive as the Breath of the Wild playhouse a father constructed for his kids.
A 16-minute video uploaded to YouTube by Once Upon a Workbench shows the process behind constructing the playhouse, which is based on Link's home in Breath of the Wild. It's a complicated process, ranging from modeling out the finished product in computer software to constructing it. Other in-game aspects include a replica of a shrine, a breakable pot, and Majora's Mask.
The breakable pot is an impressive piece in its own right, as it can be broken apart and put back together again thanks to magnets placed throughout it. It's the type of prop that not only goes well in a setup like the playhouse, but could complement pretty much any gaming room set up under the sun.
The finished playhouse is an astonishingly accurate depiction of the in-game home, complete with the color scheme and sign matching the one found in Breath of the Wild. Better yet, the plans for the playhouse are available online, though they cost $60. Still, considering how well-done it is, that's not too extreme for someone looking to build a similar abode for their own kids, or even themselves for those just looking to spice up their lawn.
Impressive monuments to Breath of the Wild are nothing new, of course. The game has had a profound cultural impact since it released alongside the Nintendo Switch in 2017, and in turn, inspired countless pieces of Legend of Zelda fan art, cosplay, and more. This is one of the more interesting creations that the game has spawned, a testament to just how far-reaching its appeal has become.
Luckily, there's a sequel on the horizon, though Breath of the Wild 2 details have been sparse since the game was originally announced. Knowing Nintendo, the game won't release until it's been given the right amount of time in the oven, so depending on how development goes, fans could be waiting a while. However, if it's anywhere near as impactful as its predecessor, fans can likely expect more projects like this playhouse to pop up, or possibly something on an even bigger scale.
Breath of the Wild is available now for Nintendo Switch.
