Apex Legends Leak Reveals New Map, Arenas, and More | Game Rant
A massive Apex Legends leak may have just shown what is on the way in the multiplayer battle royale from Respawn Entertainment. The cryptic leaks point to a Tropic Playlist, Estate Arenas, Fuse Active Tease, and more. What all of this means takes a bit more digging with the help of some datamining in Apex Legends.
Season 8 of Apex Legends will begin on January 20 of 2021, and with it will come a new Legend, likely a new weapon, and some new meta changes, as per usual. But some of the datamined and leaked finds could come into effect as well, which could be very interesting.
At first glance, the post (that has now been deleted) lists Estate Arenas, Tropic Playtest, Canyonlands MU3, 6-man Kings Canyon MU, 1 LVL Boost, 40-man Oly duo, Airdrop Takeover Trios, Salvo Ship Active Tease, and Fuse Active Tease, making it both cryptic and confusing. But known Apex Legends dataminer (@Biast12) has followed up the information by confirming it and cleaning it up to clarify what it could mean. So while the future of Apex Legends won't include wall-running, it may include a tropical map.
@Biast12 on Twitter chimed in to answer some of the Apex Legends datamined leaks in their coded forms. He believes that MU3 is an unreleased map update and that the Tropic Playlist could be a new map, for example. There were hints at an urban/city-themed map for months leading up to Olympus in Apex Legends, so it would not at all be a surprise to see a tropic-themed map be added to Apex Legends at some point.
The leak also points to "Estate Arenas," which could indicate some sort of limited-time mode. Apex Legends has done a fine job of handling events and modes, much like the well done Winter Express limited time Mode in Apex Legends recently. The Estate Arenas could be referring to the Estates point of interest in the Olympus map.
With fans looking for details via datamining and the next season right around the corner, there's plenty of Apex Legends to go around. In addition, Respawn Entertainment just released the most recent Stories from the Outlands short film called Fight Night, this one focusing on Pathfinder. It's witty, cute, emotional, and extremely well animated. Fans are also looking into this to find any hints on Pathfinder's backstory, possible information on Nox (Caustic), and perhaps even if a future Legend is in the video itself.
Apex Legends is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Switch version in development.
