Borderlands 3: The Eridian Fabricator - What It Does (& How To Get It)

Borderlands 3 has a lot of weird and whimsical weapons in the game but few are as wacky as the Eridian Fabricator. It's incredibly useful to help get players rare guns or even legendary guns if the player chooses to use its alternate firing mode. As long as players have Eridium the Eridian Fabricator will keep them well equipped.

The Eridian fabricator is a gun that literally shoots out other guns and is called the "gun gun" by most players. Players can spend 10 Eridium to have the fabricator shoot out ten guns which will come in green or purple rarity. These weapons will always be scaled to the character's level. It is worth noting that the Eridian Fabricator cannot shoot out DLC weapons even if the players using it owns any DLC packs.

In the July 23, 2020 patch, an alternate firing mode was added. The alternate firing mode costs two hundred fifty Eridium to fire but results in one to four items being shot out. These can be legendary weapons or unique mission reward weapons of blue and purple rarities. The text for the weapons will show up as red, unlike their normally acquired counterparts.

It's recommended players looking to get this gun are at level 37 before setting out. Players must go to Desolation's Edge to speak to Typhon and must have completed the quest The First Vault Hunter. If they have, the Footsteps of Giants quest will begin. Players must head to the Nekrotafeyo Vault and follow the general questline, getting and placing Eridian crystals, digging up and using the vault key, and looting the vault. Once players complete the quest, Typhon will give them the Eridian Fabricator as a reward.

Players should take a chance at getting a rare item by talking to Typhon before receiving the Eridian Fabricator and getting him to fire it once. The player has a chance of it still firing a Legendary weapon even though Typhon is firing it without the alternative firing mode. It's also worth noting the Eridian Fabricator can technically have weapon skins applied to it but due to a bug, the skins won't display.
