Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Fan Discovers New Prestige Emblem
Leveling is an important part of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War community. As players gain ranks, they slowly unlock new weapons and cosmetics for use in multiplayer game modes. With Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War still being a relatively new title, fans have yet to find the ceiling of when player ranks stop progressing.
During the Call of Duty: Warzone integration, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be sharing progression with all three recent titles. Player rank in Modern Warfare and Warzone will be reset and placed at the same level as Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. With all three games progressing at the same level, players have a chance to prestige over the course of 1,000 levels throughout the games.
Twitter user xZomboking posted an image of a new Prestige emblem that they earned in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The icon is familiar, as many players remember the symbol being the Prestige 4 emblem from Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. This is only one of several Black Ops 4 assets that have appeared in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and it possible that this is only a temporary symbol that will be replaced in a future update.
The future of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is uncertain, and it is still possible that the developers used this icon on purpose. Players are used to the old progression systems, and if the game continues to use fan-favorite iconography, the game could save time on development.
More content is expected to be patched into the game come December 16th. Treyarch is working on finishing content for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's integration with Warzone and Modern Warfare, so fixing an emblem will most likely have to wait.
Many fans still argue that keeping the old emblem could be a positive thing. It gives Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War a sense of familiarity that can help the community merge into the new game culture. With many fans confronting glitches and problems within the title, a reminder of previous beloved experiences could be just what the community needs to jumpstart its fan-base.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War continues to evolve through every patch. As more operators, content, weapons, and maps come to the game, the community will continue to change. Hopefully, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's developers can repair enough of the in-game filler assets without removing the core Black Ops experience that fans know and love.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available on PC, PS4, Ps5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
