Cyberpunk 2077: How to Avoid Entering Combat in Gig An Inconvenient Killer
Gigs in Cyberpunk 2077 are optional side missions provided by the fixers in the night city. While most of them involve infiltrating enemy hideouts to steal an item or taking down an important figure, few of them can turn out to be the best side quests players will come across in Cyberpunk 2077.
An Inconvenient Killer is a gig given by Dino Dinovic, one of the many fixers players will find operating in the underbelly of Night City. This gig is a bit different from the rest since it has an optional objective that asks players not to indulge in combat, which as a result opens up an interesting scenario at the end. Depending upon how players customized their characters, taking a stealthy approach can turn out to be a very smooth or a very cumbersome affair.
Upon reaching the 7th Heaven bar, players should ignore the entrance guarded by the bouncer. Taking the elevator on the opposite end, which requires 9 Technical Ability to access, is the key. Upon reaching, players will notice an NPC on the left that they can easily bypass while crouching. Things can get a bit tricky once they reach the dance floor which is brimming with bouncers and cameras. Simply sticking to the left-hand side and then taking the staircase on the right will take them to the room that has a camera in front. Players who invested in the Intelligence skill tree can easily remote deactivate this camera to avoid detection and then take the first right where a bouncer lies straight up ahead.
Fortunately, the bouncer is looking at the other side so players won't have to interact with him. Simply going through the security door on the right and sneaking straight up will take them to a room with a ladder. It's important to activate the ping quickhack since there's one guard that can detect the players from behind. Taking the ladder will lead the players to a platform that would allow them to reach the other side of the bar where Jack Mausser, the target, is in the VIP room. From here, players can scan and ping his location to keep an eye on him.
Upon reaching the other side, players should drop down from the duct and make their way across the room that will lead them right to Jack. Jack, as expected will start asking players about their prospective hirer. Once the dialogue option prompts up on the screen, players should choose the option, "Simmer down- let's talk," to avoid any possible confrontations. From here on the conversation will go on and on when finally another dialogue option prompts, to which players should choose the option, "Leave Night City."
With Jack taken care of, players will now have to make their way out of the club quietly to complete the optional objective. Taking the door next to the one they came from, will take them to the floor below. From here enter the door with the EXIT symbol and take the immediate right to avoid the member of the Animals' gang in front. From here, getting out is easy. Players should simply head towards the door with another EXIT symbol straight up ahead and then take the staircase with the same EXIT symbol to get out of the place. As with every gig, players will now get a call from the fixer, in this case, from Dino Dinovic, who will chip in some extra eddies for avoiding combat and persuading Mausser to leave Night City.
The wide array of gameplay opportunities that the game provides is the heart of the experience. While it's is still from being a polished experience on both consoles and PC, there are a lot of interesting elements that Cyberpunk 2077 offers, something that may have been lost in the launch debacle.
Cyberpunk 2077 is now available on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with a free PS5, Xbox Series X/S upgrade coming in 2021.
