Destiny 2: How to Get Superb Texture for Dawning 2020 | Game Rant
Destiny 2's holiday season event, called the Dawning, is here. Guardians will have to gather Destiny Dawning ingredients to bake cookies for all the NPCs at the Tower in order to gain rewards. One of the most difficult of these to gather is the Superb Texture.
This Destiny 2 Dawning cookie part is one of the three needed to make cookies for Eva's Classic Butter Cookie, which requires a Taken Butter, a Superb Texture, and 15 Essence of Dawning to bake. Taken Butter is easy to find; players just need to kill some Taken enemies anywhere and it will drop. The Essence of Dawning are needed for every single cookie recipe. Thankfully, they can be farmed from just about everywhere; public events, patrols, and most other events in-game will drop at least a couple of these needed Dawning 2020 ingredients.
The Superb Texture is a very rare drop that comes from killing any kind of enemy with a super. So if players are looking to farm ingredients specifically for Eva's cookies, they should use their supers as often as possible in Taken public events. This will allow players to collect all three of the needed ingredients for Eva's Classic Butter Cookie and push toward the Destiny 2 community cookie baking goal, including the Superb Texture.
Other great places to farm for ingredients is challenge area of Europa Eclipsed Zone and the tier 4 Blind Well in the Dreaming City. These both have good density of enemies that will allow players to kill many in a short period of time. Since the Superb Texture has a very low drop rate, players will need to make sure they are killing as many enemies as possible with every Super charge.
The drop rates for this particular item seems to be abnormally low, even for rare items. This may be due to several different reasons, but there have been some rumors circulating on Reddit that this particular drop may be bugged. Destiny 2 is no stranger to bugs; currently, Bungie is investigating the Destiny 2 bug with flawless Trials of Osiris.
Whether bugged or not, some players have been having a lot of trouble getting them to drop. Some have suggested trying a different type of super, or a different character all together, if players have more than one. Whether this is a drop rate issue or a bug related to certain kinds of characters or supers, hopefully Bungie fixes the issue before the Dawning progresses too far.
Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
