Fortnite: How To Get Shadow Tracker Exotic Pistol | Game Rant
The launch of Fortnite's Chapter 2 Season 5 introduces many new changes to the game. In addition to drastic map changes, Fortnite players will see plenty of new weapons, including the Exotic Shadow Tracker pistol.
Epic Games' popular battle royale title recently launched the weapon as part of its new season. Having a focus on bounty hunters across "all realities," Fortnite is also continually adding unexpected crossovers like The Mandalorian and God of War's Kratos.
To begin with, all Exotic weapons are very rare and can only be acquired from trading Gold Bars with some of the NPCs located throughout the map. Players hunting down the Shadow Tracker will want to head to the easternmost part of the map in Dirty Docks. Within Dirty Docks, head to the large building that is the closest to the map's edge (the one that looks like Dusty Depot). There they can find an NPC by the name of Reese. Simply talk to Reese, select the Exotic pistol, and select purchase. However, players will certainly need a lot of Fortnite's new currency if they want it in their arsenal.
As previously mentioned, players can only get Exotics by buying it off of select NPCs. Unfortunately, the 1,225 Gold Bar price tag is likely to drain player's stashes, assuming they even have that much. With only five Exotic weapons around the map, seeing the guns in action is a somewhat rare event.
Players who do manage to gather enough bars to make the exchange will be basically wielding a souped-up suppressed pistol. In addition to dealing 29 damage per round, the Shadow Tracker marks opponents for a limited time. This is the same effect that happens when shaking down opponents or consuming a Vendetta Flopper. So in short, the basic steps to get the Exotic Shadow Tracker pistol are:
- Head to the easternmost point of the map, into Dirty Docks.
- Go into the building closest to the edge of the map, that looks identical to the buildings from the old Dusty Depot.
- Once you’re in there, search for the NPC with the three-dotted speech bubble hovering over their head — this is Reese.
- Talk to her and flick through the available options.
- Hover over the Shadow Tracker pistol and, if you have at least 1225 Gold Bars, select it.
The Shadow Tracker re-introduces the suppressed pistol into Fortnite, but with a unique twist. The high damage rate and added tracking feature should make this a highly sought-after weapon. However, due to the high price tag, it's unlikely players will be able to gather enough Gold Bars for it more than once every few games.
The new currency system is becoming quite a divisive topic among fans. While some players don't feel like the game is being severely affected, there are others who believe Season 5's Bars will completely change the competitive scene. It seems only time will tell where Fortnite will go next.
Fortnite is free-to-play for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, and Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
