Fortnite: Where to Destroy Dog Houses | Game Rant

With the next week of Fortnite's Season 5 firmly established, players are rushing to complete challenges. These are not quite as violent as fighting Ruckus, but these scavenger hunts grant XP nonetheless.

Each of the new challenges for this week of Fortnite are Epic or Legendary. These do not give a new challenge upon completion, unlike the newest incarnation of regular challenges, but they do grant a bunch of XP. One of this week' challenges is a search and destroy mission that tasks players with finding and destroying dog houses. Here's a quick guide to finding and smashing three dog houses to complete the challenge.

The best area to complete this challenge is the small, idyllic, abandoned suburb of Pleasant Park. Located prominently in the northwestern quadrant of the map, it is easy to find on the map and easy to land in at the start of the match. There are several weekly challenges that can be completed in the area, so be sure to do those as well. It's best to get as much XP as possible all at once, and knocking off a few challenges in one game will certainly contribute to getting it faster.

There are dog houses scattered around Pleasant Park, which makes sense. Even though the dogs are long gone, this was once (presumably) a very dog-friendly neighborhood. One particular house seems to have an interesting backstory though, and that's the house players want. It has no less than five dog houses in its yard, and all very close together. The house is located in the upper-right corner of the rectangular area comprising Pleasant Park. Be sure to destroy five mailboxes on the way over, as that completes another weekly quest.

The dog houses are very easy to destroy. A single swing with the Pickaxe (maybe a few more) will bring them down fast. There's really nothing else to the challenge, so after it's done, move on to another one. The easiest is to hop in a car, head north of Pleasant Park, and drive through a flaming ring.

The challenges may be small-scale for now, but there are no doubt bigger things in the future for Fortnite. After all, the Galactus event was the biggest in Fortnite's history, so it stands to reason that after the current (relative) calm, another interesting storm will follow. Here's hoping it's something really, truly fun.

Fortnite is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
