Genshin Impact: How to Head to South Base Camp to Search for Journals in A Land Entombed

Genshin Impact has received update 1.2, which has greatly expanded the popular RPG. The Dragonspine update has added new enemies, new locations, and new quests, giving Genshin fans a whole lot more content to explore. One of these quests is to go to the South Base Camp to search for journals in the quest A Land Entombed.

In order to get this quest, players will need to have a chat with Hertha, the coordinator for the Knights of Favonius, in Mondstadt. Once granted the quest, players can head back to Dragonspine. Players should take care, however. It's so cold there that they will take Sheer Cold damage if they don't have a Warming Bottle or Pyro character to keep them warm. Players can grab the diagram for the Warming Bottle by leveling up the Frostbearing Tree, all they need is to collect as many Crimson Agate as they can find to get the Tree up to Level 4.

Once players are ready to head into the cold, they should use the teleport waypoint that is close to the Starglow Cavern in the Dragonspine Region. This will get them very close to the location of the lost journals. Head east, then down into the hole past the waypoint. Keep heading east; there will be a path that curves around to the south. This path will be blocked by ice. Players just need to smash the ice, then head out into the South Base Camp.

At the end of the path, players will find a Precious Chest filled with all sorts of goodies and some free Primogems. To the left and right of the chest will be several bookcases and another chest; these will contain more loot for players as well as the lost journal that they have been sent out here to find. The game will then prompt players to "return to base camp," where they will be given more clues from the journal's contents.

Genshin Impact players can then return to base camp. Use the Windwail Highlands Teleportation Waypoint to get there. Next, players can talk to Stevens, he'll give them the next leg of the quest.

Players should kill as many enemies in the area as possible along the way to grab up all the Rime-Worn Fragments and Crystals they will need to complete the Chalk Prince and the Dragon event before it ends January 6th.

Genshin Impact is available for mobile, PC, PS4, and will soon be available for Nintendo Switch.
