Ghost of Tsushima Fan Creates Impressive Drawing with Colored Pencils

Ghost of Tsushima is one of the most popular and successful games released in 2020. For a new IP, Ghost of Tsushima has managed to captivate a number of players and cultivate a loyal following in the months since the game's release. Quite a lot of excellent fan-made content has surfaced as well, including a cacophony of fanart.

Most would be hard-pressed to find someone who disagrees in saying that Ghost of Tsushima is a beautiful game. Of the many games featured in the PS4 game library, the art direction for Ghost of Tsushima is some of the best that the industry has to offer. Though, some fans have managed to go toe-to-toe in terms of quality art.

Reddit user _david_draws_ managed to create an intricate and highly detailed drawing of Ghost of Tsushima's protagonist, Jin Sakai, entirely out of colored pencil. The level of expression and complexity of every feature present throughout the drawing is well done, and The detail on Jin's hand alone almost looks like it was 3D modelled in-game.

The yellow-to-red gradient in the background lends itself to the old-school samurai aesthetic the game is known for. For some people, it could almost be mistaken for a piece of Ghost of Tsushima concept art. Then again, the way that Jin's hair, eyes, and ears look in the colored pencil drawing looks very similar to how he looks in the actual game.

The level of quality fanart and homages to Ghost of Tsushima that have surfaced since its initial launch is astounding. Back in late July, one fan created an intricate painting based on Ghost of Tsushima that was quite beautiful. It's great to see that a game which has been out for only about half a year already has managed to maintain longevity in terms of its popularity.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Ghost of Tsushima moving forward. The introduction of Ghost of Tsushima: Legends helped to create a dedicated playerbase, and the game got nominated for a number of accolades at The Game Awards 2020. It's clear the game has managed to make a serious impact on the gaming community, thus the future of this game is quite bright. What comes next for the game is impossible to say right now, but a potential DLC campaign or even a sequel would likely get fans excited.

Ghost of Tsushima is available now exclusively for the PS4.
