Nickmercs Believes Call of Duty: Warzone Has A DMR Problem

Competitive Call of Duty player and popular YouTuber Nickmercs has some concerns over the balance in Call of Duty: Warzone. In a recent video, he stated a belief that many players have echoed regarding the tactical rifle DMR 14. This Call of Duty: Warzone weapon has been a controversial topic among the game's community since its appearance several seasons ago.

Originally, the weapon was horribly unbalanced with little to no bullet drop. In game modes like Call of Duty: Warzone, this gave the weapon an increased range that was not expected by the developers. After several nerfs, patches, and updates, the gun seems to be still causing just as many problems as it did upon launch.

In his video, Call of Duty: Warzone YouTuber Nickmercs discussed the DMR and its ability to snipe players, enable cheaters, and unbalance the game in unbelievable fashion. The weapon has a massive range, great damage and stopping power, and a major lack of recoil in its current build. This allows it to quickly snap, fire, and down most enemies, which makes it the perfect weapon for cheaters using aimbot programs. To further the problem, Nickmercs noticed that almost everyone in the game is wielding the DMR. This means that to compete at all in Call of Duty: Warzone, players are either using the DMR or getting killed by it.

This conversation quickly shifts into a discussion of meta, as the DMR has been top of the list for Call of Duty: Warzone since the gun was added. Many players agree with Nickmercs in the comments pointing out that it has ruined alternative strategies and made the game generally unfun. There are even players swearing off the competitive shooter until something is done about this tactical rifle.

The Call of Duty: Warzone community was expecting a nerf as the DMR 14 dominated the Christmas holiday week. While a nerf may be on the horizon, Nickmercs believes that it may not be that simple of a fix. By nerfing the DMR, competitive players will just switch to a similar weapon like the Type 63 and begin the process once again.

Nickmerc's argument is that most weapons in Call of Duty: Warzone are just not viable compared to the DMR, MAC 10, and tactical rifles. While balancing tweaks can subdue the problem, there is an inherent unbalance happening that has not been confronted. As the game continues to be updated, the entire game community is waiting for any answer to compete against the DMR 14's domination of Warzone.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
