Overwatch: All the New Winter Wonderland 2020 Skins | Game Rant

The time has come for Overwatch's most wintery and festive event of the year, Winter Wonderland. This year, there are plenty of new skins for players to obtain, as well as sprays, voice lines, and many other cosmetic items.

Overwatch players also have access to a brand new arcade mode during the event this year known as Freezethaw Elimination. Of course, players also have full access to the previous years' arcade modes for the Winter Wonderland event including Snowball Deathmatch, Mei's Snowball Offensive, and Yeti Hunter.

This year Mei, Moira, Reinhardt, Torbjorn, and Zenyatta have received new Winter Wonderland-themed legendary skins. Three new epic skins have also been revealed for Junkrat, Ana, and Roadhog that can be unlocked by participating in the weekly challenges during the event.

Winter Wonderland 2020 is the second time Mei has received a legendary skin for the event. Considering the rather cold reception toward her initial legendary skin, however, many will be happy with the new one for this year's event.

Mei's Penguin skin features Mei in an adorable penguin-themed suit with a knitted scarf. The skin is embellished with a variety of lovable details including shoes styled like penguin feet, a fish-charm hanging off her cryo-tank, and an incubated penguin egg inside the tank on her back.

Moira's Ice Empress skin marks the first time she has received any kind of skin for the Winter Wonderland event. Unlike the beloved ice queen Elsa, Moira is fashioned with thick furs, icy accessories, and a marble statuette fashioned onto her back.

The design for this skin seems very inspired by the White Witch of the Chronicles of Narnia. Considering Moira's status as one of Overwatch's villains, this is very fitting with her character.

Reinhardt's Conductor Skin marks Reinhardt's second Winter Wonderland skin, but his first legendary skin for the event. This skin is themed after an old-timey conductor as well as a snow-covered train.

It is most likely that this skin is inspired by the classic Christmas children's book, The Polar Express as well as the movie of the same name. This is especially evident with how Reinhardt's conductor uniform and facial hair are similar to the conductor from the film version of the story,

Torbjorn also got a new legendary skin for the 2020 Winter Wonderland event, making him now have two legendary Winter Wonderland skins. While his previous skin made the engineer look like Santa Claus, this new skin gives Torbjorn the appearance of a Lumberjack.

To go along with the Lumberjack theme, Torbjorn is clad in flannels, an axe for his hammer, and a pile of wood strapped to his back. Unfortunately, however, his turret isn't a tree or made of wood with it being a bright yellow metal material with a little tree symbol on it.

Zenyatta also received a new legendary skin, marking his second Winter Wonderland legendary skin. This skin is named Toybot and transforms Zenyatta into a toy robot with a battery pack and an emotion screen with led lights. The new skin is accessorized with a holiday bow and a sash resembling a music box feed.

For the first week of the Winter Wonderland 2020 event, players will be able to unlock Junkrat's new epic skin, Elf. This skin turns Junkrat green and makes his ears pointy, alongside a few other festive details. Players will only have until December 22, 2020, to unlock this skin before it is replaced by the second week's challenge.

Week two of the Winter Wonderland 2020 event will allow players to unlock Ana's Gingerbread epic skin. This baking-themed skin is accessorized with a holiday apron and festive patterns. Players will have from December 22, 2020, until December 29, 2020, in order to unlock this skin.

The final epic challenge skin for Winter Wonderland 2020 is Roadhog's Frosty skin. This skin gives Roadhog the appearance of a violent Frosty the Snowman with glowing eyes. Players will have from December 29, 2020, to the event's end to unlock this skin via the challenges.

Overwatch is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
