Wonder Woman's Gal Gadot Will Present at The Game Awards
The Game Awards is now a week away, and Geoff Keighley continues to announce different presenters that viewers can expect to see that night. He recently announced that Gal Gadot, Wonder Woman herself, will make an appearance at the awards show to present for one of the categories.
For those who may not know, The Game Awards is the video game industry's annual awards show to celebrate the best of the best in gaming across multiple categories. This is the 7th year for The Game Awards, and it continues to be hosted and produced by Geoff Keighley, who founded the now annual event in 2014. Gaming fans are always treated to big-name appearances, big game reveals, and entertainment throughout the night. Gal Gadot isn't the only big-name superhero fans can expect to see that night either. Tom Holland, star of the recent Spider-Man movies and the upcoming Uncharted movie, is going to present as well.
Gal Gadot first appeared as Wonder Woman in the 2016 film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Since then the actress has gathered a huge fanbase, and continues to inspire people around the world as the iconic heroine. Fans are also eagerly awaiting her second solo film, Wonder Woman 1984, which will finally be released on Christmas Day. While the announcement for The Game Awards isn't completely out of the left-field, it is still interesting that Gal Gadot was chosen to be a presenter, as the actress hasn't really crossed over into the video game world.
Before fans get their hopes up, her appearance doesn't automatically mean one should expect an announcement for a new Wonder Woman game. There are several good reasons why a Wonder Woman game should be made, but it's entirely possible that Gadot is just there to help appeal to outside audiences that might not normally tune in to watch The Game Awards.
On the flip side, there are two upcoming DC Comics games that we might hear more about that night. Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League are two games we might see more of during the awards show, possibly in the form of new trailers or new gameplay reveals. Since Gadot is tied to the DC Comics universe, it would make sense for her to introduce new footage from these games.
However, on the off chance that Gal Gadot is there to announce a planned Wonder Woman game, that would surely be an early Christmas present for many fans. Whether it would be set in the Arkham games universe like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, or be in its own stand-alone universe like Gotham Knights, fans would just have to wait and see. Regardless of how Gal Gadot will be involved at the Game Awards, viewers can expect big announcements, plenty of new content, and different live performances throughout the night from artists like Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder and the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
The Game Awards will air on December 10th at 6:30 EST across numerous platforms and co-streams from three studio locations in Los Angeles, Tokyo, and London.
