World of Warcraft: Shadowlands - Best Healers | Game Rant
World of Warcraft's newest expansion, Shadowlands, brings players to the afterlife of Azeroth. Not only does it expand abilities and allow players to meet old, dead WoW NPCs again, but it also has made some changes to the best specs for healing in both raid and Mythic+.
Players looking to heal in Shadowlands have several main specs options that they should explore. They should also take into account the Covenant they want to join; some healing specs work best with one of the four Covenant's abilities. The possibilities for healing spec are:
- Discipline Priest
- Holy Paladin
- Holy Priest
- Mistweaver Monk
- Restoration Druid
- Restoration Shaman
Even with the November 16th update for Shadowlands that nerfed their abilities, Restoration Druids in the Night Fae Covenant are the best choice for healing in Mythic+. They have the only combat res spell available, as well as the ability to heal massive amounts. The class-specific ability from the Night Fae, Convoke the Spirits, explodes with 12 Druid spells over 4 seconds, which makes it easy to choose a Covenant in Shadowlands. They have strong healing over time abilities as well as strong HoT's for single targets, making them great for Mythic. They are best as Night Elves on Alliance side, and either kind of Troll on Horde side.
Disc Priests come in a close second when in Venthyr; the class-specific ability Mindgames ramps up both damage and healing, especially when paired with some of the best Priest Legendaries in WoW. However, Disc Priests are much more difficult to play well and they lack the combat res that can be so useful, which makes Restos the favorite.
Figuring out the best spec for World of Warcraft raiding is a lot more about personal preference and skill level. Disc Priests are a pretty obvious favorite here, but that's mostly when they are combined with very talented players. Disc Priests can be very punishing even now when players miss their timing even a tiny bit. But for raw numbers, Disc is hard to beat. Resto Druids also can do amazing in Raid, but they are also kind of punishing when the unexpected happens since many of their spells take quite a bit of time to set up.
However, for those players who are wanting a little more leniency, any Holy Spec is going to be the right one for them. Both Holy Priests and Paladins have a lot going for them, with easy action and less need for precision. People who play WoW are as diverse as the characters of Azeroth, and players should always play what feels best to them.
World of Warcraft: Shadowlands is now available for PC.
