Call of Duty: Warzone Players Feel The DMR May Still Be Too Strong Despite Nerfs
The Call of Duty: Warzone community has been dealing with the DMR and MAC-10 meta for several weeks now. With a new update appearing in-game, fans are finally being promised relief from the oppressive weapons, but some remain skeptical given this is the second nerf that Call of Duty: Warzone's DMR has received, meaning the first one did not do the job.
The community is currently debating whether or not the Call of Duty: Warzone nerf will be effective enough to bump the DMR and MAC-10 from the current meta. Call of Duty: Warzone has several guns to choose from, but the pairing of the tactical rifle and SMG caused many games to become stale and repetitive for some. Still, a new nerf has been put in place, and some fans believe it is more than enough to solve the ongoing issue.
Charlie Intel shared a clip of its writer Keshav Bhat discussing the Call of Duty: Warzone nerf. In the clip, Bhat discusses details about the patch, pointing out it does impact more than just the DMR and MAC-10. For many fans, Call of Duty: Warzone has alternative loadouts that can easily replace the DMR, but it seems Treyarch has preemptively nerfed those as well. It will take several days before the community can truly feel the effects of the nerf, but many are hopeful this will be the end of the three-shot kill abilities that the DMR has provided thus far.
When it comes to the DMR and MAC-10, some players suggest an alternative solution to the power problem. Rather than continuing to nerf the weapon, the community wonders if buffing other guns could be a viable solution. Call of Duty: Warzone has hosted several underperforming weapons since the game's integration with Black Ops Cold War, and those could counter the DMR if properly adjusted.
Other fans argue nerfing the weapon is exactly the right move. The game is already difficult for some new players to join, and by causing weapons to become even more lethal, it only pushes for a competitive mindset in what many consider a casual game. Call of Duty: Warzone is meant to be a fun experience, and by increasing damage for other weapons, it may become more toxic than intended.
While fans wait for the ripple effect from the nerf, the developers seem satisfied this will fix the problem. The Call of Duty: Warzone nerf touches on recoil, damage, headshot multipliers, and more for both the MAC-10 and DMR, so there should be nothing left to adjustment.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
