Cyberpunk 2077: How To Equip Johnny Silverhand's Arm | Game Rant
Alongside all of the Johnny Silverhand items that can be obtained in Cyberpunk 2077, Johnny's silver hand is also an equipable item that may have been missed by many players. Here's how players can equip Johnny Silverhand's arm in Cyberpunk 2077.
Johnny Silverhand is an ex-military veteran, which is what led to him being a rebellious rocker and losing his arm. Along with all of the Samurai merch and Johnny's Porsche, his arm can be equipped. However, unlike his Porsche and aviators, the silver hand isn't referenced or alluded to throughout Cyberpunk as something that V can obtain, so it's unclear if this is a bug or if the feature is intentional. Either way, players won't need to install a mod for this.
To permanently equip Johnny Silverhand's arm while playing V, players will first need to finish the side quest Chippin' In. This side quest is essential to obtaining Cyberpunk 2077's secret ending, and it'll be assigned to V automatically after finishing the main quest Tapeworm.
After Chippin' In has been completed, navigate over to V's backpack and scroll all the way down. Toward the bottom should be an icon of Johnny's silver arm, but it's easy to miss as it's listed as a common item along with general junk that can be sold for extra cash. This is strange because there won't be any item name listed, and it will be marked as worth a single dollar, so it's possible this is how Cyberpunk's programming automatically equips Johnny's arm to V when he's possessing their body.
However, the silver hand can be equipped at any time as well. Simply click on the item and it should mark itself as "equipped." Navigating back to V's inventory menu won't show the arm on the protagonist's body, but it can be seen in first-person mode or third-person mode while riding a vehicle.
While it doesn't offer a buff or abilities of any kind, it operates similarly to the few cybernetic pieces of equipment that actually change V's visual appearance, such as the Mantis Blades or the Gorilla Arms. V will even get the spike that comes out of Johnny Silverhand's elbow, and it can be seen in photo mode. However, the silver hand looks similar to when Johnny is possessing V's body: somewhat transparent and glitchy like a ghost arm.
To make Johnny's arm more visible, some cyberware can make it more or less transparent. For example, Gorilla Arms will make it harder to see, while the Monowire cyberware or Mantis Blades installed into V's arm can make it almost look solid.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions coming in 2021.
