Destiny 2: Harbinger Feather Locations for Bird of Prey Quest
After launching the Beyond Light expansion at the tail end of 2020, Bungie is preparing to move on to Season 13 in Destiny 2. Season of the Hunt arrived alongside the icy campaign of Beyond Light, taking players to the Tangled Shore to work alongside the former foe, now ally Crow. Along the way, players acquired the former Destiny 1 exotic hand cannon, Hawkmoon, though what made this gun standout was the fact that players would be able to farm the gun for different perks.
At long last, this week's update finally brought with it the Harbinger mission, which is essentially a remixed take on the original Destiny 2 Hawkmoon quest. Once the secret entrance is found, players essentially work backwards through the mission, fighting Taken enemies and making it back to the shard for a stand off with the Taken boss, Akorith. Finishing the challenging quest drops multiple Hawkmoon rolls and an additional chance at its catalyst.
However, the newest Destiny 2 exotic mission also comes with its own quest called Bird of Prey which tasks players with running the mission multiple times in order to collect Feathers of Light inside of the Harbinger mission. While these can be drops during the mission including a reward for completing the survival portion as well as finishing the boss, players can also find five of them scattered around the level.
Before killing the first emissary inside of the large space. Head to the middle and jump on top of the metal structure to go to the second floor. Run through the door on the second floor after battling the Wizard Emissary to find a small room with a fence protecting some machinery against the wall. Feathers can also be found here stuck behind this fence. Thankfully, on the wall is a red flashing button which can be pressed to unlock the gate.
Just after players finish off the second emissary, the feathers can be found in their room.
Similar to the Wizard Emissary, once the Cabal Emissary's health is low enough, they'll end up teleporting away into a darkened room. The Paracausal Feather is located on a catwalk in the middle of the room.
Players can locate the third feather prior to finishing off the final Emissary of Savathun. Once again, lowering their health will cause them to flee and escape to a different room inside the dam. While chasing it down, players will enter a large cylindrical room where they need to jump from point to point to reach the higher floors. Instead of following the recommended path in here to the final emissary, players should continue to climb to reach the highest catwalk platform where another feather can be picked up.
After the Survival section, players will be heading back towards the Traveler Shard for the final encounter. However, before getting there, players should look for a path inside the Harrowed Rift where a big metal walkway and beams hang over head. Some taken will spawn nearby, but the feather itself is sitting on top of a box under the metal platform.
The final Paracausal Feather in the mission can be found just outside the final boss room. After finishing off the Unstoppable Champion and lowering the barrier to the shard, players should turn right and follow a short path to a dead end and the final feather.
With all 100 feathers secured, players can unlock the Radiant Accipiter ship. Players accidentally stumbled upon this ship early inside of the European Dead Zone, walking through the now open gate. During the Hawkmoon story quest, Crow admitted that an old broken down ship was located there, though to his surprise, the ship was now in mint condition.
As it turns out, it's also the reward players will be receiving from finishing this quest. The Traveler Blessed ship is silver and adorned with feathers all over. The game time gates the feather collections, so for most players, it'll take about two weeks to unlock this ship using three characters. However, clever players have found a way to earn it faster by deleting a third character to continue collecting feathers without having to wait. Unfortunately, it also means unlocking stasis again each time, so while players can access the ship now, it can be a bit more time consuming than simply waiting for the next reset.
Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
