Pokemon GO: How to Get Shiny Gigalith | Game Rant
There aren't too many Pokemon from the Unova region in Pokemon GO that have their shiny forms implemented. Thankfully for shiny collectors, Roggenrola and the rest of its evolutionary line have had their shiny forms for quite some time.
While shiny collectors in Pokemon GO will usually want the shiny forms of any Pokemon they can get their hands on, there is something special about the Roggenrola line. This is due to how Roggenrola's evolutions, Boldore and Gigalith look in their shiny forms. Instead of their normal red crystals, they are decorated by a pleasing teal that many find aesthetically pleasing.
With there still being some time left in the Unova Celebration Event, players can use this opportunity to increase the odds of getting a shiny Gigalith. However, players will need to be prepared to go on quite the hunt.
The first thing players will need to do is to catch a shiny Roggenrola. With its spawn rates increased thanks to the Unova Celebration Event, players should use whatever incense and lures they have in order to get as many Roggenrola as possible. They won't know if the Roggenrola spawned is shiny until they enter the capture screen, so players should go for the catch as often as they can, which also helps to collect candies. Players will need a lot, so Pinap Berries and Silver Pinap Berries are highly recommended.
Players can also get Roggenrola from 5 km eggs received during the Unova Celebration Event. This egg pool is shared by a variety of other Pokemon as well, so that may not help players in their hunt.
After players catch a shiny Roggenrola, they will need to evolve it into Boldore. This will cost players 50 Roggenrola Candies, meaning that those candies from the hunt earlier will come in handy. Any rare candies used will also prove to be helpful. After evolving into Boldore, however, the real challenge for this Pokemon has Boldore needing 200 Roggenrola Candies in order to evolve into Gigalith.
Once players have a shiny Gigalith, they will have a pure Rock-type Pokemon that is weak to Steel, Ground, Fighting, Water, and Grass-type moves. Gigalith also resists Normal, Poison, Flying, and Fire-type moves. The best moveset to teach Gigalith for the maximum amount of DPS has it knowing Smack Down for its fast move and Solar Beam for its charge move.
Pokemon GO is available now on Android and iOS devices.
