10 Of The Most Wholesome Things You Can Do In Grand Theft Auto 5
Being a vulgar caricature of contemporary society, Grand Theft Auto V rightfully makes its characters and game world devoid of kindness. Los Santos is so superficial, materialistic, and miserable that even some fictional dystopian worlds are preferable to it. Needless to say, Los Santos isn't a nice place, and players are only making it worse by acting like a typical GTA protagonist.
So why not, for a change, refrain from doing something that will do the therapists of Los Santos citizens a huge favor? It turns out, finding some kind acts to do in Los Santos isn't that difficult; sometimes, even the missions themselves are wholesome and healthy for a particular protagonist. Time to balance out all that bad digital karma with some good deeds.
10 Using Your Own Vehicles
Shocking, isn't it? In a game that lets you carjack your way out of a transportation crisis, using your own purchased vehicle is almost taboo. Thankfully, GTA V gives each playable character (in story mode) his own vehicle. While they might not look like much compared to Vinewood's luxury models, you're doing the digital world a favor.
For one, Los Santos is the fictional equivalent of Los Angeles, California, where the cost of living is high and car insurance cost is through the roof. Chances are that players will not only be driving stolen vehicles but also their own. Besides, getting yanked out of your car in GTA doesn't feel good, especially if it happens to the player character.
9 Driving Safely In The Streets Of Los Santos
In addition to being a regular person in Los Santos and driving your own vehicles, learning the basic road rules, and following them, just might remedy any underlying anger issues the player might have toward the world. Following the road lanes, traffic lights, and even giving the right of way to pedestrians is a good ethical foundation of Los Santos society.
Use GTA V as a learning process on how to be a functional member of the real world. The same idea applies here. Los Santos has a high cost of living and therefore has medical services fit only for celebrities. Don't subject those poor pedestrians to such a predicament; avoid doing tire burnouts against their limp corpses.
8 Helping Low-Level Players
Now, on to GTA: Online, you can actually practice humanity better because you're playing with humans. As such, human decency is always a factor as opposed to wooden, immoral, and godless NPCs in story mode.
Helping low-level or poor players in GTA: Online is a good way to spread some positivity around the GTA community. Such things are in low supply these days with the number of griefers and cheaters present in the online mode.
7 Charity Heists
Okay, this sounds contradicting as heck, but charity heists are for a good cause. In any case, GTA: Online is a great place to practice Robin Hood ideals in a contemporary world setting.
This is easily done by taking a zero percent cut and then giving away more or less 85 percent to other heist participants. If there's a poor player in the team, then consider them lucky. Also, this is an excellent way to make some online friends at the cost of spiting some NPCs.
6 Helping Michael Bond With His Family
In story mode, the most troubled out of all three characters is Michael, who not only has to look out for his life but also three others since he has a family. It just so happens that his family is an ungrateful bunch who disrespects him all the time.
Luckily, Michael is in fictional Hollywood, so chances are, his family problems can be easily fixed with a montage and a bit of humor and honesty. Completing the bonding activities with each of his family members, especially with his wife, is a good way to sort of "fix" his problems.
5 Saving Tracy From Herself
Michael's neither a good husband nor a good father, but the few chances he has to protect his children from predators are some of the rare, endearing moments in the game. Players are forced into these missions, though no one's complaining as they show just how messed up Los Santos can be.
The first time Michael had to save Tracy was from the pornography industry and potential human traffickers. The second time was protecting Tracy from a real-life celebrity who's brave enough to lend a sleazy version of himself in GTA V.
4 Tipping Street Performers
Taking someone else's money in GTA games is practiced so ubiquitously that it's as natural as breathing. That's why giving back all that cash to some struggling souls who need it more is a good way to cleanse the character of that blood money.
In GTA: Online, players can give money to friends. However, in story mode, they'll be pleased to know that street performers accept compliments in cash. Players might not know the story behind them, or whether they're decent people or not, but don't be cheap now, and instead, give them some recognition.
3 Playing With Chop
Dogs are always good creatures, whether in-game or in real life. Even still, man's best friend can only get so many rewards for being a good boy. In Chop's case, he needs some hard-earned playtime to unwind from all the fanged enforcing that Lamar makes him to do.
Playing with Chop, and even cleaning up his poop (players can shoot the feces if they're too hygienic), is good for the soul. Even digital dogs need some parenting time, lest they become as depraved and as apathetic as the people of Los Santos.
2 Running Triathlons
On top of keeping a healthy mind in Los Santos, players also shouldn't neglect their characters' personal health. Think of it as really taking care of the three playable characters. Goodness knows how much exercise and detoxification they need.
The best way to do this is by subjecting them to triathlons. They might be opposed to it from the start, but they'll be a lot more thankful once they start outrunning police officers without the need for vehicles.
1 Getting Rid Of That Lame Haircut, Self Care
Now that the playable characters feel great in body and mind, it's time to make them look aesthetically pleasing. Lamar said it best and gave Franklin a wake-up call in the form of a good roasting involving his haircut.
This is even more imperative when controlling Michael or Trevor, as they're older men and tend to look less appealing with disheveled hair. Head on over to the local barber and get ready for Lamar to hate you 'cuz you're so beautiful.
