Call of Duty: Warzone Hit Registration Issues Return After Latest Update

Call of Duty: Warzone has had numerous patches over the last year made to help improve the game's performance and fix several issues. The latest February patch for both Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War fixed several issues in the game, but it added a couple of new ones, too.

Recently, players noticed how Call of Duty: Warzone is experiencing various issues after the recent patch update was released in the game. Some of the problems include players being unable to switch operators and frequent crashes. The latest issue is bullet hit registration, a problem that hindered Warzone in its early release. Previously, Raven Software had fixed the issue, but now it's back in the game.

The last patch did bring some benefits to Warzone, adding new content such as adjusting match bonuses and kill rewards in Kingslayer mode, improving the timing of Black Ops Cold War weapon reloads, and fixing the visual for the "Heavy Handed" Sledgehammer. The patch update even fixed Warzone's stim glitch, which had been a problem in the game for a while. However, among the positive changes and bug fixes the patch brought, it also brought back the bullet registration problem.

Once the new patch was released, plenty of players noticed the issue right away while they were playing in online and private matches. Players on the Warzone subreddit voiced the various issues they encountered after the patch: bullets not meeting their target, hit markers being delayed or not showing up, terrible aim assist, and the target reticle randomly disappearing. Several players confirm that this happened to them while playing Warzone on PC, PS4, and PS5 but not on Xbox consoles at the time of writing.

At first, some players thought it was just a random bug, but it kept frequently happening to them while playing Warzone, and it turns out that others have had the same problems. They have reported that bullets go through enemies in Warzone, and hit markers don't appear at all even when their shots land on the enemy. Some players have been able to get kills during their matches, but they couldn't tell if the shots connected. Others, meanwhile, lost some matches or had to quit because they didn't know if the shots hit the enemy.

For the moment, there's no confirmation of how widespread the issues are, but more players could comment later on social media. Overall, this is an unexpected development for Warzone immediately following its last patch.

Call of Duty: Warzone is free-to-play for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
